Bad tape in an ETL 7/3500 causes downing all of the drives in NetBackup
SOLUTION SUMMARY:
To prevent one tape from being cycled through the drives, touch the following
file in /usr/openv/netbackup:
MEDIA_ERROR_THRESHOLD
Edit this file and put in a numerical value
1-###
From now on, when there is an error (whatever number you specify) on this tape,
it will mark this tape as frozen.
Inserting the entry
DRIVE_MEDIA_THRESHOLD
may also assist in stopping this problem.
