DLT 7000 Tape Drives Quantum DLT7000 tape drives may fail with right column of LEDs flashing. These tape drives are failing at a higher than expected rate due to a buckling link defect (A01 and A02), and a tach pulse problem which was introduced in firmware version V45. Only tape drives within the Sun date code range 9735 - 9806 are affected by the buckling link defect. The affected Sun serial number range is from 9735000000 to 9806999999. Quantum serial number range is from CX73500000 to CX80699999. Only tape drives with firmware version V45 are affected by the tach pulse problem.
