[rancid] prompt detection clogin

Hi,

I have a device that since a firmware upgrade the prompt has changed from :-

hostname>
hostname#

To :-

hostname*>
hostname*#

The device is in a cluster and the asterisk is to indicated that it is the master, the non-master member is still working using clogin.

Can anyone guide me in the changes needed to clogin, so that this will detect the prompt correctly? I've had a look and I believe the issue to be with the asterisk as the prompt is used as a regular expression but the asterisk is not escaped. My knowledge of tcl/expect scripts is every limited and I don't know where to start to fix it.

I'm not worried about breaking clogin for other devices as I would implement this in its own login script as it already has its own custom rancid script.

Any pointers would be greatly received.

Thanks

Adam
