This preface describes who should read the Cisco CDN Software Enterprise Solution User Guide, how it is organized, and its document conventions.

This user guide provides detailed information about the Cisco Content Distribution Network (CDN) for network administrators and media managers. The document is designed to be used as a reference in your everyday work. The person responsible for managing the CDN Content Distribution Manager (CDM) and Content Engines (CEs) should be experienced with the following topics:
This user guide provides step-by-step instructions for using the CDN software. It assumes that the CDM and CEs are physically present and have been installed and activated, as outlined in the Cisco CDN Software Enterprise Solution Configuration Guide.
This guide is intended for system administrators who are going to install and configure the CDN. Administrators should be familiar with the following topics:

The CDN software comes with both printed documentation and online help to assist you in learning to use the features of the CDN. Refer to the following documents when you have questions regarding the CDN software:

You can access the most current Cisco documentation on the World Wide Web at http://www.cisco.com, http://www-china.cisco.com, or http://www-europe.cisco.com.
Cisco documentation and additional literature are available in a CD-ROM package that ships with your product. The Documentation CD-ROM is updated monthly. Therefore, it is probably more current than printed documentation. The CD-ROM package is available as a single unit or as an annual subscription.
Registered CCO users can order the Documentation CD-ROM and other Cisco Product documentation through our online Subscription Services at http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/subcat/kaojump.cgi.
Nonregistered CCO users can order documentation through a local account representative by calling Cisco's corporate headquarters (California, USA) at 408 526-4000 or, in North America, call 800 553-NETS (6387).
Cisco provides Cisco Connection Online (CCO) as a starting point for all technical assistance. Warranty or maintenance contract customers can use the Technical Assistance Center. All customers can submit technical feedback on Cisco documentation using the web, e-mail, a self-addressed stamped response card included in many printed docs, or by sending mail to Cisco.
Be sure that you have submitted your CDN device configuration to Cisco Technical Support at 781-663-8293. Registering your devices makes the job of supporting your CDN installation easier should you ever need to contact Cisco Technical Support. In order to register your CDN devices, you will need to have the following information available and provide it to the Cisco Technical Support representative:
