This appendix lists the standards with which the Cisco MGX 8850 system complies. First, it lists the applicable standard for an individual technology, card, or module.

The MGX 8850 enclosure meets all applicable regulatory agency Product Safety requirements:
- UL 1950, Third edition (Standard for Safety, Information Technology Equipment, Including Electrical Business Equipment). UL component recognition with follow up is required.
- CSA C22.2-#950-M95, (Standard for Safety, Information Technology Equipment, Including Electrical Business Equipment). UL or CSA certification with follow up is required.
- EN 60 950 (Safety of Information Technology Equipment Including Electrical Business Equipment). IEC/EN certification with follow up is required and may be obtained from TUV Rheinland, VDE or other approved European Test Laboratory.
- TS001 Austel-Safety Requirements for Customer Equipment. (Including AS3260, Safety of Information Technology Equipment)-Australia.
- All secondary circuits will meet Safety Extra Low Voltage (SELV) requirements, as
described by IEC 950, EN 60 950, UL1950 and CSA C22.2-#950.
- EN 41003 (European Product Safety Standard for Telecommunications Equipment).
The environmental standards to which the Cisco MGX 8850 system is designed are Bellcore NEBS, GR-63-CORE, and ETSI ETS 300019.
The Cisco MGX 8850 chassis and enclosure is designed to meet all applicable regulatory agency EMC requirements (Class A EMI):

This section lists the national and international standards for electromagnetic compatibility and immunity to which this Cisco product complies. It consists of a list of reference documents, a table that indicates applicability of the standards, and the test levels for mandatory and non-mandatory CE mark immunity.
The applicable standards for electromagnetic compatibility and immunity:
- NEBS Systems Requirements (GR-1089-CORE).
- EN 55022 (EMC Directive 89/336/EEC).
- EN 50081-1 and EN 50082-1 (Generic Immunity Requirements), International Electromechanical Commission (IEC 1000-4-2 through IEC 1000-4-5 / European Norm designation EN 61000-4-2 through EN 61000-4-5.

The levels for the mandatory CE mark immunity tests are as follows:
