Use the Node dialog to configure node properties. (See Figure 9-3.)

The Node dialog parameters are described in Table 9-3.

Node Name | Specifies the name of the node (and is unique among all the nodes in the network.) Whenever the name of the node is changed, AutoRoute has to propagate the information to the other nodes in the network. It also specifies the name of a PAR Feeder node.

Shelf Date | Sets the date for the shelf. The syntax is mm/dd/yyyy. |
Shelf Time | Sets the date for the shelf. The syntax is mm/dd/yyyy. |
Shelf Time Zone | Defines standard time for the shelf. Choose one from the popup menu:
To define a standard time not defined in here, use gmt and set the offset from the gmt in the Shelf Time Zone Offset parameter. |
Shelf Time Zone Offset (Hours) | Contains the offset from greenwich mean time in hours. If configuring for standard time in the Shelf Time Zone parameter, set this object to 0. If configuring for non standard times use this object as an offset from the GMT. |
Shelf Back Plane Type | Type of back plane, generally 336 Mbps. |
Shelf Back Plane SerialNo | Unique value for each shelf, entered in nvram by manufacturing. The serial number is on the non-volatile RAM on the backplane. |
Shelf Integrated Alarm | Status of the shelf's integrated alarm. Can be one of the following:

Use the PAR Trunk Interface dialog to view and configure PAR Trunk Interface information. (See Figure 9-15.)

There are four ways to select the line (using either a front or rear view of the card) to display the appropriate line configuration dialog:
To display the configuration parameters for a particular line/port, select the name of the category from the Category popup menu at the top of the dialog. The categories of line configuration available are:
Use these dialogs to view and configure dsx3 line information. (If you reached any of these dialogs by device selection, the total number of rows read is displayed at the bottom of the dialog.) To select another line for viewing, enter a line number in the LINE field at the top of the dialog. The dialog is refreshed and displays the new information.

Line Statistical Alarm State | Status of the line statistical alarms. A value of zero indicates no alarms. |
Red Severity | Used to set up the severity of RED alarm. When an LOS/LOF alarm is detected, the BNM sends the alarm with the appropriate alarm status. Can be minor or major. |
RAI Severity | Used to set up the severity of RAI alarm. When RAI alarm is detected, the BNM sends the alarm with the appropriate alarm status. Can be minor or major. |
Near End Alarm Up Count | Specifies the increment to the near-end alarm integration counters. The local alarms are LOS and LOF. The default is 6, and the integration counter is incremented by this value every 10 milliseconds when the alarm persists. The counter is decremented by the value of Near End Alarm Down Count while there is no alarm (the counter does not decrement below zero). When the integration counter exceeds dsx3NEAlarmThreshold, an alarm of the severity specified for the particular NE alarm is declared. |
Near End Alarm Down Count | Specifies the decrement to the near-end alarm integration counters. The local alarms are LOS and LOF. Statistical Alarm Severity | Used to set up the severity of any of the statistical alarms. When a statistical counter exceeds it specified threshold, the AUM sends the alarm with the appropriate severity. Can be minor or major. |
To modify the parameters, make the changes you want and click Modify.
There are two dialogs for dsx3 counter configuration. Use the dsx3 Counters dialogs to view and configure dsx3 Counters. (See Figure 9-30 and Figure 9-31.)

The dsx3 Counters (1 of 2) dialog parameters are described in Table 9-29.

To modify the parameters, make the changes you want and click Modify.
These dialogs show sonet line configuration information. (If you reached any of these dialogs by device selection, the total number of rows read is displayed at the bottom of the dialog.) To select another line for viewing, enter a line number in the LINE field at the top of the dialog. The dialog is refreshed and displays the new information.

Sonet Medium Type | Identifies whether or not a SONET or an SDH signal is used across this interface. Can be SONET or sdh. |
Sonet Medium Time Elapsed (Secs) | Number of seconds, including partial seconds, that have elapsed since the beginning of the mandatory error-measurement period. |
Sonet Medium Valid Intervals | Number of previous intervals for which valid data has been stored. A SONET device must support at least n intervals, where n: 4 = minimum value 32 = default value 96 = maximum value The value of this object is n unless the device was brought on-line within the last nx15 minutes, in which case the value is the number of complete 15-minute intervals the device has been on-line. |
Sonet Line Coding | Line Coding for the SONET interface. Can be one of the following:

Sonet Line Type | Line type for the SONET interface. The line types are Short and Long Range Single Mode fiber or Multi-Mode fiber interfaces, and coax and UTP for electrical interfaces. Can be one of the following:

Sonet Circuit Identifier | Transmission vendor's circuit identifier for facilitating troubleshooting. |
