Monitoring Lines

Selecting a Line

There are four ways to select the line (from either the front or rear view of the card) to display the appropriate Line Monitor dialog:

To view the parameters in line graph format, use the HP OpenView Grapher application. Select the parameters by clicking once, then click the Grapher button. The Monitor dialog remains open.

Monitoring dsx1 Counters

There are two dialogs for monitoring dsx1 counters:

Use the dsx1 Counters dialogs to view dsx1 Counters. (See Figure 10-1 and Figure 10-2.)

There are two dialogs for monitoring dsx3 counters. Use the dsx3 Counters dialogs to view dsx3 Counters. (See Figure 10-3 and Figure 10-4.)

Rcv Hec Err Cnt

Number of cells with HEC errors.

Rcv Hec Err Sec Cnt

Number of seconds in which HEC errors were present.

Number of severely errored seconds in which HEC errors were present.

Clear Port Counters?

Clears all ATM RealTime Counters for the port.

Number of AAL-1 header errors detected and possible corrected. Header errors include correctable and uncorrectable CRC, plus bad parity.

Pointer Reframes

Number of events in which the AAL-1 reassembler found that an SDT pointer is not where it is expected and the pointer must be reacquired.

Lost Cells

Number of cells lost in the Egress direction due to AAL-1 header errors and missing cells.

Buf Underflows

Number of buffer underflows in the Egress direction.

Buf Overflows

Number of buffer overflows in the Egress direction.

Ingress Disc. Bytes

Number of bytes discarded due to shelf alarm in the Ingress direction from port data.

Egress Underflow Cells

Number of cells inserted in case of Egress buffer underflow.

Drop Bytes

Number of bytes discarded in the Egress direction because of Egress buffer overflow.

Sequence Mismatch Cnt

Number of sequence mismatches.
