Displaying and Configuring LDM Cards

The Low-speed Serial Data Module (LDM) front card supports up to 8 synchronous or asynchronous data ports. Each port is independently configurable for DTE or DCE mode, baud rate, and so on.

Displaying Card Parameters

To display the Card Configuration dialog for this device (using the rear or front view), right-click on the card to display the card "Configure" pop-up menu, then select Configure.

Front Card Configuration Dialog

Use this dialog to display LDM card characteristics, hardware, firmware, and status information. The Card Configuration dialog parameters are described in Table 10-1 .

Parameter Description

Slot No

Identifies the slot the card is in.

Card Status

Status of the card. Examples are:

Active---Card in use. No failure.

Standby---Card idle. No failures.

Failed---Card failed.

Down---Card downed.

Mismatch---Mismatch between front card and back card.

Missing---An active card has been removed.

FrontCard Type

Identifies the type of front card. In this case, it is an NTM.

Front Card Serial#

Serial number on the front card.

FrontCard Revision

Model, hardware revision, and firmware revision of the front card.

Card Y-RedStatus

Card Y-Redundancy status. The values can be one of: primary, secondary, null.

AssocCard for Y-red

Associated slot for this card's Y-Redundancy. If the Card Y-RedStatus is primary, the secondary card index displays in this field. If the Card Y-RedStatus is secondary, the primary slot index displays in this field. If Card Y-RedStatus is null, a zero (0) appears in this field.

No. Ports (Front Card)

Number of ports on the front card.

Parameter	Description
Slot No	Identifies the slot the card is in.
Card Status	Status of the card. Examples are: Active---Card in use. No failure. Standby---Card idle. No failures. Failed---Card failed. Down---Card downed. Mismatch---Mismatch between front card and back card. Missing---An active card has been removed.
FrontCard Type	Identifies the type of front card. In this case, it is an NTM.
Front Card Serial#	Serial number on the front card.
FrontCard Revision	Model, hardware revision, and firmware revision of the front card.
Card Y-RedStatus	Card Y-Redundancy status. The values can be one of: primary, secondary, null.
AssocCard for Y-red	Associated slot for this card's Y-Redundancy. If the Card Y-RedStatus is primary, the secondary card index displays in this field. If the Card Y-RedStatus is secondary, the primary slot index displays in this field. If Card Y-RedStatus is null, a zero (0) appears in this field.
No. Ports (Front Card)	Number of ports on the front card.

Note This is not a configurable dialog.

Back Card Configuration Dialog

Use this dialog to view back card characteristics, hardware, firmware, and status information. The Card Configuration dialog parameters are described in Table 10-2.

Note The parameters in this dialog cannot be configured.

Displaying Port Parameters

To open the Port Configuration dialog, right-click on the port (rear view) to display the "Configure" pop-up menu, then click Configure. The LDM Port Configuration dialog appears as shown in Figure 10-1.

Parameter Description

Card

Number that identifies the slot the card is in.

Line

Number of the line.

SerialPort Interface Type

Type of physical interface associated with the port. Can be one of: RS-232, RS-449, X21, V35.

Oper Status

Operational status of the port. Can be one of: up, down, other, failed.

SerialPort DCE/DTE

DCE/DTE type of the port.

SerialPort Clock

Port clocking configuration. Choose one of the following from the pop-up menu: other, normal, split, looped.

SerialPort Utilization

Port percentage utilization. Enter the appropriate value into the field.
