Displaying and Configuring
NTM T1/E1 Cards

The Network Trunk Module (NTM) enables FastPacket transmission on a trunk. An NTM can occupy any available front service card slot in the range 3 to 32.

Selecting the Card and Displaying Card Parameters

Select the card (on both the rear or front view) to display the Card Configuration dialog by doing one of the following:

Front Card Configuration Dialog

Figure 3-1 shows the parameters for an NTM front card. Use this dialog to display NTM card characteristics, hardware, firmware, and status information.

Table 3-1: Card Configuration Dialog Parameters
Parameter Description

Slot No.

Identifies the slot the card is in.

Card Status

Status of the card. Examples are:

  • Active---Card in use. No failure.

  • Standby---Card idle. No failures.

  • Failed---Card failed.

  • Down---Card downed.

  • Mismatch---Mismatch between front card and back card.

  • Missing---An active card has been removed.

FrontCard Type

Identifies the type of front card. In this case, it is an NTM.

Front Card Serial#

Serial number on the front card.

FrontCard Revision

Model, hardware revision, and firmware revision of the front card.

Card Y-RedStatus

Card Y-Redundancy status. The values can be one of: primary, secondary, null.

AssocCard for Y-red

Associated slot for this card's Y-Redundancy. If the Card Y-RedStatus is primary, the secondary card index displays in this field. If the Card Y-RedStatus is secondary, the primary slot index displays in this field. If Card Y-RedStatus is null, a zero (0) appears in this field.

Processor BOOTId

Boot ID of the processor card. If the card is not a processor card, this field is blank.

Processor RAM Size(Mbytes)

RAM size of the processor card in megabytes. If the card is not a processor card, na appears in this field.

Processor FEPROM Size

FEPROM size of the processor card. Can be one of: meg4, meg3, meg2, unknown, meg8. If the card is not a processor card, "na" appears in this field.

Processor BRAM Size(Mbytes)

BRAM size of the processor card in megabytes. If the card is not a processor card, na appears in this field.

No. Ports(Front Card)

Number of ports on the front card.


Note The parameters in this dialog cannot be configured.

Back Card Configuration Dialog

Use this dialog to view back card characteristics, hardware, firmware, and status information. The Card Configuration dialog parameters are described in Table 3-1.

Slot No.

Number that identifies the slot the card is installed in.

Card Status

Status of the card. Examples are:

  • Active---Card in use. No failure.

  • Standby---Card idle. No failures.

  • Failed---Card failed.

  • Down---Card downed.

  • Mismatch---Mismatch between front card and back card.

  • Missing---An active card has been removed.

BackCard Type

Back card type.

BackCard Serial #

Serial number on the card.

BackCard Revision

Model number and hardware revision of the back card.

No. Ports (Backcard)

Number of ports on the back of the card.

Card Configuration Dialog Parameters---Back Card

Note The parameters in this dialog cannot be configured.

Interface Configuration

Select the Interface (on the rear view) to display the the Interface Configuration dialog by doing one of the following:

The NTM Physical Line Configuration dialog appears in Figure 3-3.

Card

Number that identifies the slot the card is in.

Line

Number of the line.

Interface Type

Line Interface type.

Admin Status

Administrative status for the trunk. Choose one from the popup menu:

  • up

  • down

  • added

  • deleted

  • setbitmap

Service

Service for the line. Choose fpRoutingTrk from the popup menu. The other options do not apply to the NTM T1/E1 Interface.
