This manual provides you information on how to perform an automated or upgrade installation of Cisco StrataView Plus (SV+) 9.1 and its associated software programs on an workstation running the AIX 4.1 operating system.
This chapter describes the minimum hardware and software requirements for the Cisco SV+ 9.1 release. It also provides a list of reference documentation.
Chapter 2, "First Time Installation Procedures", describes how to perform the automated Cisco SV+ 9.1 installation procedures.
Chapter 3, "Upgrade Installation Procedures", describes how to perform an upgrade from a previously installed AIX version of SV+ to the Cisco SV+ Release 9.1.
Chapter 4, "Configuring and Starting Cisco StrataView Plus 9.1", describes how to configure and invoke the Cisco SV+ 9.1 product.
Cisco SV+ Release 9.1 for AIX must be installed on an IBM PowerPC. The AIX 4.1 operating system must be installed on the IBM PowerPC before you install Cisco SV+ 9.1.
IBM's Netview 4.1 is used to produce Cisco SV+ 9.1 topologies and for logging traps. When Netview 4.1 is already installed on your IBM PowerPC, proceed with the installation of Cisco SV+ 9.1. Otherwise, you must install Netview 4.1 on the IBM PowerPC before you install Cisco SV+ 9.1. For instructions on installing Netview 4.1, refer to the appropriate IBM documentation.
