Configuring PXM Cards

Configuring PXM Cards

The PXM45 is a full-height combination ATM switching Fabric/Processor card. The switching fabric provides 45 Gbps of non-blocking switching capacity, while the processor provides the control plane that delivers IP+ATM networking software, diagnostics, and performance monitoring.

Selecting the Card and Displaying Card Parameters

Select the PXM card to display PXM card configuration dialogs by doing one of the following:

Card Information Dialogs

The PXM Card Category menu contains two dialogs:

These dialogs are described in the sections that follow.

Front Card Dialog

Use this dialog to view PXM Front Card characteristics, hardware, firmware, and status information (Figure 4-1).

The Card Configuration dialog parameters are described in Table 4-1.

Parameter Description

Status

Front card status.

Admin Status

Administrative status of the card. Can be enabled or disabled.

Type

Current card type.

Slot Number

Number of the current slot the card is installed in.

Front Card Description

Description of the front card.

HW Revision

Hardware revision number of the function module.

FW Revision

Firmware revision number of the function module.

SW Revision

Software revision number of the function module.

Serial No.

Serial number of the front card.

Orderable Part No.

Orderable part number of this function module.

Reset Reason

Last reason for card to reset. This values is stored in the
non volatile RAM, and can be retrieved when the card is functioning. Can be Powerup, parityError, watchDog, resource, clrAll, missingTask.


Note   This is not a configurable dialog.

BackCard Dialog

Use this dialog to view PXM Back Card characteristics, hardware, firmware, and status information (Figure 4-2).

The Card Configuration dialog parameters are described in Table 4-2.

Parameter Description

Slot Number

Number of the current slot the card is installed in.

Type

Current card type.

HW Revision

Current card hardware revision.

Serial No.

Line module number. Physcially, it is behind the backplane with connectors for physical devices.

Orderable Part No.

Orderable part number of this function module.

PCA Number???


Note   This is not a configurable dialog.
