Centralized Management of the uOne System

Centralized Management of the uOne System

The uOne Manager, a web-based tool, allows operations personnel to centrally manage and monitor Cisco's distributed uOne system. This tool provides reporting and operational state information used for monitoring overall system functionality and reliability.

Note   The uOne Manager tool is an optional package. Check with your system administrator to see if it is installed on your uOne system.

This chapter includes information about how to:

Accessing the uOne Manager

Step 1   Start Netscape Communicator (version 4.5 or higher).

Step 2   Type the URL for the uOne Manager:

http://<hostname>:<port>/Login.html

For example, http://host1:280/Login.html (see Table 6-1).

The uOne Manager login screen displays.

Viewing Historical Call and Process Activity

To ensure that the uOne system is running at optimum capacity, you should monitor uOne call and process activity. You can generate several call and process activity reports. We recommend that you generate these reports at least once a day. You can generate reports for one or more sequential days. The selection criteria for the reports may include day, days, host, host group, COI, and COI group.

Note   The selection criteria filters from the source of the activity, not the destination. For example, if user1 from COI1 sends a voice message to user2 from COI2, the Subscriber Voice Message Sent Details Report displays COI1 activity only.

The following call activity reports are available:

Generating a Report

Step 1   Access the uOne Manager.

Step 2   Select Reports.

Step 3   Select UM.

Step 4   Select the desired report.

After a few seconds, the report displays in the uOne Manager window. You can print it with your browser Print function.
The uOne Manager creates a comma-separated-values (csv) file for the report. It creates the file in the location defined by the WEB _REPORTS attribute in the oam.ini file and downloads it to your browser. The csv file can be imported into popular desktop software packages, such as Excel, for analysis.
