Changing Your PIN

Your Personal Identification Number (PIN) is a unique code that prevents unauthorized access to your mailbox. You can change your PIN as often as you like.

Step 1 Press 4 from the Main menu.

Step 2 Press 3 from the Mailbox Administration menu.

Step 3 Enter your new PIN and press #. Your PIN cannot contain # or *, and should not be the same as the last 4 digits of your phone number. The length of your PIN is determined by how your company has configured the maximum and minimum lengths allowed.

Step 4 Re-enter you PIN and press #. The system confirms that it has changed your PIN.

Enabling/Disabling Your Pager

If you have set up a pager, you can enable or disable your pager. If your pager is enabled, and you don't change the default pager notification settings, you will be paged when you receive a new urgent voice, fax, or e-mail message. Your pager will display a two-digit code informing you of the message type:

Note Please ask your system administrator to configure your pager. If your pager is not configured, the system will not list this option in the Mailbox Administration menu.

Step 1 Press 4 from the Main menu.

Step 2 Press 4 from the Mailbox Administration menu. The system tells you whether paging is on or off.

Step 3 Press one of the following:

* The system will not present these options unless single-number reach is enabled.

Note You can change the pager notification settings through your Personal Mailbox Administration PC interface. You can customize your service many different ways. For example, you can set the service to page you only on urgent messages.

Changing Message Playback

You can change the way messages are played back to you.

You can choose to hear messages with their headers (the part of the message that tells you the telephone number or name of the person leaving the message, as well as the time and date the message was received), or the message body only, for both new and saved messages. Unless you change it, the system is set to play the message body only.

The autoplay feature automatically plays the Get Messages menu after you've accessed the system, so you can get your messages right away by selecting the message type. Unless you change it, the system is set to automatically get new messages. If you prefer to get the Main Menu instead, then you need to disable autoplay of messages.

If autoplay is enabled and you don't want to listen to your messages when you access the system, press *1 to access the Main menu and perform another function.

Step 1 Press 4 from the Main menu.

Step 2 Press 5 from the Mailbox Administration menu.

Step 3 Press 1 to enable or disable automatic playing of message headers.

Step 4 Press 2 to enable or disable autoplay of messages.

Changing Business Hours

Business hours are used with the out-of-hours greeting and with Single-Number Reach to distinguish between standard business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) and the other hours of the day.

Step 1 Press 4 from the Main menu.

Step 2 Press 6 from the Mailbox Administration menu. Note: Press *3 to use standard business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.).

Press # after you've entered all your business days. (For example, enter 34567# to change your business days to Tuesday through Saturday.)
Tip: If you make a mistake, press *3 and start again.

Step 4 Press 2 to enter the start time for business hours. Enter the hour, then 2 digits for the minutes, then press a for a.m. or p for p.m. Press # after you've entered your business start time. (For example, enter 900a# to begin your business day at 9:00 a.m.)

Step 5 Press 3 to enter the end time for business hours. Enter the hour, then 2 digits for the minutes, then press a (2 on the telephone) for a.m. or p (7 on the telephone) for p.m. Press # after you've entered your business end time. (For example, enter 600p# to end your business day at 6:00 p.m.)

Assigning/Changing the Default Fax Number

If you don't provide a default fax number, the system prompts you to enter a number each time you request to print a fax. You can either use the default or you can use a different number.

Step 1 Press 4 from the Main menu.

Step 2 Press 7 from the Mailbox Administration menu.

Step 3 Follow the system prompts to enter the default fax number and press #. The number cannot contain # or *.

Step 4 Press 1 to verify the number is correct.
