Environment Setup

Further setup of components needed for a functional deployment environment are listed within this chapter.

Data Network

Information concerning Domain Name Servers (DNS) and Network Time Protocol (NTP) servers must be obtained. The formats are provided below.

DNS Servers

Primary DNS Server Name:_____________________
IP address:_____._____._____._____

Secondary DNS Server Name:_____________________
IP address:_____._____._____._____

NTP Servers

NTP Server 1 Name:_____________________
IP Address:_____._____._____._____

NTP Server 2 Name:_____________________
IP Address:_____._____._____._____

Prerequisites

After integration into the PSTN has been accomplished and DNS and NTP have been set up, configuring Backend Servers is next. The following list includes required as well as optional servers that need to be set up.

Note Make sure a standard PC email client can access these services.

Optional

Set up your standard Internet Messaging environment without Cisco software.

Cisco software

The following table lists the Cisco software required for each server. It is recommended that these software packages be installed using the installation script, which is discussed in the following chapter DAP software comes in datastream format. The DAP software must be installed (and removed, if necessary) in a specific order. Certain packages depend upon others being present on the machine at the time of their installation. Use of the installation script ensures package dependency integrity.
