The guides for installation of the Netscape Directory and Messaging Server installations are available within the Netscape web site:

Configuring Backend Servers

uOne is an application that runs on a standard Internet Messaging Platform. It is designed to comply with Internet standard protocols LDAPv2, IMAPv4, SMTP, MIME, SNPP, SNMP, and HTTP.

The following Backend Servers will be covered in this document:

Where applicable, each section will cover:

These backend servers are considered to be shared resources within your standard Internet Messaging environment. It is assumed that these servers are already installed and operational. This document provides information for installation and configuration of Cisco software. Because the backend servers are shared resources, you need to engineer and design your backend systems to accommodate the uOne requirements along with your other services.

Note If your Backend Servers support SNMP (via agent software), we strongly recommend that you use it to allow monitoring and alarming for these servers. In particular, we recommend that you direct any traps generated by such SNMP agent software to your SNMP Network Node Manager. Netscape Directory and Messaging servers, for example, provide master and sub-SNMP agents to support their servers.
