System Administrators can provision uOne subscribers' profile information to a centralized LDAP database using a web-based administration interface. This information includes the subscriber's mailbox ID, uOne password, and the class of service, as well as various settings and options.
When a System Administrator adds a subscriber to uOne, the system creates a mailbox for the subscriber on the Directory Server. This mailbox, identified by the subscriber's telephone number, contains an inbox folder, a trash folder, and any other folders that the subscriber creates. In addition to the mailbox on the Directory Server, the system creates a special mailbox for each uOne subscriber on the Messaging Server under a Greeting Administrator account. Each special mailbox contains two folders, one to store distribution list recorded names and one to store personal greetings.
Before you start provisioning subscribers, ensure that the following tasks have been completed:
This section contains procedures for the following tasks:
When System Administrators add a new subscriber or add paging or SMS information for a subscriber, the system automatically sets up message notification defaults. These system defaults are typically set up when your uOne system is configured.
To add a uOne subscriber, you must create a subscriber entry with basic information about the subscriber. You may also need to add paging information, SMS information, and/or turn on optional features for the subscriber.
Step 1 Access the Unified Messaging System Administration (UMSA) interface.
Step 2 Click on the Subscriber Administration button.
Step 3 Click on Add a Subscriber.
Step 4 Enter the appropriate data in the input fields (Table 14-1).
Step 5 Click on Submit.
Step 6 To add another subscriber account, repeat Step 3 to Step 5.

If SMS Notification service is configured on your uOne system, you may set up SMS information for individual subscribers at any time.
The SMS_Notify application agent sends SMS notification messages to the SMPP Center using the SMTP or the SMPP protocol. If SMTP is used, you must enter the following information in subscribers' SMS information LDAP entries:
If SMPP is used, you must select a value other than "None" for the SMPP Center Identification attribute in subscribers' LDAP entries, and must ensure that the Notification E-mail Address attribute is blank. You may also enter values for the GSM Data Coding Scheme, GSM Protocol Identification, Type of Number, and Numbering Plan Indicator attributes. However, if you leave those attributes blank, the SMS_Notify application agent will use the information from the SMPP Center LDAP entry.
Step 1 Access UMSA.
Step 2 Click on the Subscriber Administration button.
Step 3 Click on Add SMS Information.
Step 4 Select a search option from the drop-down list box. The options correspond to fields in LDAP entries.
Step 5 Enter the data in the input field.

Notification E-mail Address | An e-mail address on the SMS server. If an e-mail address is entered, then SMS Notification messages are sent to the SMPP Center via SMTP. If there is no value entered for this attribute, then SMPP is used to send the SMS Notification messages. | A valid e-mail address in the following format: <phone_number>@<e-mail_ domain>
|
GSM Data Coding Scheme | The GSM data coding scheme is supplied by the SMS Center. If there is no value entered for this attribute in the subscriber's SMS LDAP entry, then the value defaults to the GSM Data Coding Scheme value from in the SMPP Center LDAP entry. | 0 - 127 Default = N/A |
GSM Protocol Identification | The GSM Protocol Identification is supplied by the SMS Center. If there is no value entered for this attribute in the subscriber's SMS LDAP entry, then the value defaults to the GSM Protocol Identification value from in the SMPP Center LDAP entry. | 0 -127 Default = N/A |

To modify SMS information for a subscriber, perform the following steps:
Step 1 Access UMSA.
Step 2 Click on the Subscriber Administration button.
Step 3 Click on Modify SMS Information.
Step 4 Select a search option from the drop-down list box. The options correspond to fields in LDAP entries.
Step 5 Enter the data in the input field.

Step 7 Click on the appropriate subscriber account, if necessary.
Step 8 Click on Delete.
After you upgrade the uOne application, or if a particular subscriber account is not functional, you may need to validate one or more subscriber accounts. Validating a subscriber lets you know if there are missing attributes in the subscriber's account, or if there are any required folders missing on the Messaging Server.
Step 1 Access UMSA.
Step 2 Click on the Subscriber Administration button.
Step 3 Click on Validate a Subscriber.
Step 4 Select a search option from the drop-down list box. The options correspond to fields in LDAP entries.

Step 8 If necessary, supply the missing information and then click Submit.
The Password Lockout is typically set up when the uOne system is initially configured. After configuration, you may need to perform the following tasks:
The uOne system uses the MaxLoginLockout attribute in the LDAP database to determine how many failed logins must occur before locking out subscribers from their mailboxes. This attribute is defined at the class of service level. You can change the value of MaxLoginLockout attribute for an existing class of service, if it is necessary.
Use the following procedure to change the MaxLoginLockout attribute for an existing class of service:
Step 1 Access UMSA
Step 2 Click on the COS Administration button.
Step 3 Click on Modify a Class of Service.
Step 4 Enter the appropriate Class of Service ID.
Step 5 Click on Search.
Step 6 Click on the Max. Login Attempts Before Lockout the Mailbox field. Enter the appropriate value.
Step 7 Click on Modify.
Occasionally, subscribers make a mistake entering a PIN or password when trying to access their mailboxes. If a subscriber repeatedly attempts to log in with an incorrect PIN or password and the system limit for the maximum number of failed logins is reached, the subscriber is locked and will not be able to access the mailbox until the bad login counter for that subscriber has been reset to zero.
Here is the procedure to reset a subscriber's bad login counter.
Step 1 Access UMSA.
Step 2 Click on the Subscriber Administration button.
Step 3 Click on Modify a Subscriber.
Step 4 Select a search option from the drop-down list box. The options correspond to fields in LDAP entries.
Step 5 Enter the data in the input field.
Step 6 Click on Search.
Step 7 Click on the appropriate subscriber account, if necessary
Step 8 In the # of fail login attempts field, enter 0.
Step 9 Click on Modify.
