At times you may need to reinstall your software or recover data from the uOne Corporate Edition 4.1E system. This chapter explains the steps required to reinstall the uOne Corporate Edition 4.1E software and its components successfully. When reinstalling the software, the Automated Installer requires you to reinstall the entire operating system as well as the uOne Corporate Edition4.1E components. This chapter discusses reinstalling the uOne Corporate Edition 4.1E software including the following tasks:

Caution When using the Automated Installer to reinstall software, any existing uOne Corporate Edition 4.1E files, including configuration and data files, are overwritten. Be certain to back up the system prior to reinstalling the software if you want to retain any files. |
Before reinstalling any software, be sure that you have a good backup of the system. See the "Backing Up and Restoring" chapter of the uOne Administration and Operations, Corporate Edition 4.1E for CallManager 3.0 manual for more information on backing up your system.
You should be sure that each of the uOne processes has been turned off. By stopping the uTel process first, you receive a prompt confirming that by stopping the uTel process, the uPilot, uLite, and uLogRemover processes will also be stopped.
The following steps are used to stop the processes.
Step 2 Select Settings, then Control Panel.
Step 3 Select the Services icon.
Step 4 Select the uTel process first, and click Stop.
Step 5 At the confirmation prompt for Stopping Services, confirm that all of the following processes should be stopped: uTel, uLite, uLogRemover, and uPilot.
Step 6 Click OK to stop these processes.
Step 7 Close the Control Panel.
You need to reinstall the entire system, including the Windows NT operating system and uOne components. Please refer to the information in "The Automated Installer" chapter of this guide for specifications and preparation for installation.
Follow these instructions to reinstall the Windows NT operating system.

Note After restarting the system, if you do not automatically receive the Cisco Avvid welcome screen after the system processes the array controller, press F1 at the configuration information in the DOS window to continue the installation CD-ROM. |
Step 2 At the Welcome window for the Cisco Media Convergence Server QuickBuilder, click Next.
Step 3 At the Type of Installation dialog, select New Installation or Server Replacement. Click Next.
Step 4 A warning appears stating that all information will be erased. Click Next. The system information will be erased. Do not power cycle or reboot the system until prompted to do so.
Step 5 When you receive the DOS prompt which says "The system has been erased. Cycle system power now," turn off the system, leaving the CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive. Restart the system.
Step 6 At the dialog for New Installation or Server Replacement, click Next. The system will check the hardware configuration.
Step 7 Click Next at the Configuration Process dialog. The system will be restarted. Do not remove the installation CD-ROM.
Step 8 Click Next at the Configuration Process dialog warning that the system will be cleaned of all information and reconfigured. The installation process continues performing hardware configuration and installing files. Then the system restarts automatically. Do not remove the installation CD-ROM during this restart.
Step 9 Enter your Product Key number at the Product Key dialog. This product key is an identification number given to you by your Account Representative for your software license. Click Next.
Step 10 Read the Software License Agreement, and if you agree to its terms click the I Agree button. The installation process will not proceed unless you agree to the terms of the License Agreement.
Step 11 At the Server Replacement dialog, place a check in the checkbox for Server Replacement option. Click Next.
Step 12 Click Next to complete the installation process, which should take approximately 5 minutes.
After installation is complete, you see a DOS message stating MCS SERVER BUILD IS COMPLETE. EJECT THE CD AND PRESS ANY KEY TO REBOOT.
Step 13 Remove the operating system installation CD-ROM and click Enter to restart your system.
After restarting the MCS-7835 system, use the Cisco MCS Configuration Wizard to set up the system network. To set up your system, follow these steps.
Step 2 Enter the User Name and Organization for this system. Click Next.
Step 3 Enter the ComputerName, Workgroup name, and DNS Domain information for this system in each of the fields. Click Next to continue.
Step 4 Select the appropriate Time Zone. Click Next.
Step 5 Select the correct Date and Time. Click Next.
Step 6 Enter the IP address, Subnet mask, and Default Gateway information to be used by the MCS-7835. Click Next.
Step 7 Enter the IP address for the DNS server if a DNS server will be used. Click Next.
Step 8 Click Next for the MCS Configuration Wizard to set up your Windows NT system and automatically restart.
After multiple automatic reboots, you are logged on to the system as administrator by default and a dialog reflects the additional software that your Product Key allows you to install. Install uOne Corporate Edition 4.1E using the instructions in the "Reinstalling uOne" section of this chapter.
Please check that you have completed the following tasks prior to reinstalling uOne:
To reinstall uOne software on your system, perform the following steps.
Step 2 Click Next at the Welcome screen for the uOne Installation Wizard.
Step 3 Select CallManager 3.0 (SQL Server) at the CallManager Database Location dialog.
Step 4 Enter the CallManager Host Name for your CallManager system, without the domain name (for example, CallMgrHost).

Note If your network is running Domain Name Service (DNS), you can enter the host name for your CallManager system or the IP address for that system. If you are not running DNS on your network, you need to use the IP address for your CallManager Host Name, or edit the C:\WinNT\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts file to add the CallManager IP address and name. |
Step 5 Enter the Windows 2000 Username for the database used by your CallManager.
Step 6 Enter the Windows 2000 Password for the database used by your CallManager.
Step 7 Retype the Windows 2000 Password for verification.
Step 8 Enter the SQL Server Username for the database used by your CallManager.
Step 9 Enter the SQL Password for the database used by your CallManager.
Step 10 Retype the SQL Password for verification.
Step 11 Click Next to proceed with the installation of uOne Messaging Platform.

Caution If the host information is invalid, you receive a message that this information could not be authenticated. Click OK to return to the dialog and edit the host information. |
The installation process takes approximately 20 minutes to complete and includes Netscape Communicator, Netscape Directory Server, Netscape Messaging Server, Apache Server, and Diskeeper.
The installation of the uOne Messaging Platform continues with the following steps.
Step 2 A confirmation message displays explaining that the restoration of backup files will start after the system is rebooted, and requesting you to confirm the information on the following MCS Backup Utility Configuration screens. Click OK.
Step 3 Confirm the Cisco MCS Backup Utility Configuration information for each tab. Click OK.
Step 4 Click Yes to confirm that you wish to save the backup settings.
Step 5 You are prompted to enter a new password for the Administrator account, and confirm the password. After entering this password, click OK.
Step 6 At the prompt confirming change of password, click OK.
Step 7 At the prompt stating that installation is complete, eject the CD-ROM. Then click Yes to reboot the system.
Step 8 After the system restarts, press Ctrl+Alt+Del to log on to the system as Administrator.
At this point, all uOne services are automatically stopped and restarted.
After the system restarts, the Cisco MCS Restore Utility is automatically activated. Use the following procedures to restore any needed backed up files. Be sure you have logged on to the uOne server as Administrator (admin/admin).

Note If you are restoring from a backup tape, insert the backup tape into the tape drive before proceeding. |
From the Cisco MCS Restore Utility, perform these steps to restore your uOne system information.

Note If your system was configured to a local or shared network directory, the entire backup will be contained in one file---MCS.tar. For more information on restoring data from the Cisco MCS Restore Utility, see the "Backing Up and Restoring" chapter of the uOne Administration and Operations, Corporate Edition 4.1E for CallManager 3.0 guide. |
Step 2 Click Next. The MCS Restore Utility will take a few minutes to set up the backup media to a local staging directory. No files are overwritten during this process.

Note If the MCS Restore Utility fails to verify the staging directory against the backup media, the dialog will reflect this information. You can check the log file at C:\Winnt\Stiback.log, or click Back to re-enter your settings. |
Step 3 On the dialog for Step 2 of 3, when the targets are staged, select the Target to be restored. If the target is remote, you must supply a username and password with local administrative rights.
Step 4 Click Next.
Step 5 A prompt appears informing you that if you proceed, you will overwrite the target server and all existing data will be lost. Click Yes to proceed.
Step 6 On the dialog for Step 3 of 3, the uOne target will be restored from the staging directory. The MCS Restore Utility will stop the following services before performing the restore:
It then proceeds to restore the selected target from the staging directory.
The utility shows a log of the restore process. Upon completion of the restore process, the dialog text will change to inform you that the target information has been successfully restored. You can double-click on any line in the log to see full text information. The above services are automatically restarted after the files have been restored.
Step 7 Click OK when finished reviewing the log information to close the MCS Restore Utility.
Once the system has been reinstalled, you need to set the schedule for Diskeeper. See the "Setting the Schedule for Diskeeper" section of "The Automated Installer" chapter of this guide for setting up Diskeeper.
