To listen to voice messages, perform the following steps.
Step 2 Perform one of the following:
Step 3 Enter your PIN and press #.
Step 4 If you have urgent messages, the first-in first-out system asks if you want to hear them first. The system plays urgent messages in the order received (FIFO queuing). If you choose not to hear your urgent messages, the system includes them with your other new voice messages in the order they were received.
Step 5 After the urgent messages, the system tells you how many new voice messages you have.

Note If you have changed your Message Playback setting to not automatically play your messages, press 1 to go to Get Voice Messages. |
A listing of the message options available when you are getting messages can be found as follows in Table 2-1.
| Press | To |
|---|---|
1 | Replay the message. |
2 | Respond to the message and skip to the next message. |
3 | Delete the message. |
# | Save the message and skip to the next message. |
4 | Forward the message. |
5 | Play the message header. |
6 | Make the message new. |
7 | Rewind the message. |
*7 | Return to the previous message. |
You can delete messages you no longer need. In fact, it is best to keep your mailbox free of unnecessary messages. (Your Systems Administrator defines the maximum message storage.) When your mailbox is full, callers are not able to leave you a message until you delete old messages from your mailbox.
The system tells you it deleted the message, and then skips to the next message.
You can retrieve any message you deleted during your current message retrieval session. However, once you stop getting your messages either because you go to another messaging function or you hang up, the system remove any message that you marked for deletion.
Step 2 Listen to the message and take one of the following actions.
When you save a message, the system moves the message to storage.
The system tells you it saved the message, and then skips to the next message.
You can make a saved or retrieved message new again. This is useful if, for example, you want to remind yourself to respond to a message at a later time.

Note Messages remain new if you do not press the appropriate key to save or delete, or if you keep the message new before exiting. |
Step 2 Press 6 to make it new again.
The system tells you it made the message new, and then skips to the next message.
You can respond to a voice message you receive in two ways: by making a return call or by leaving a message.

Note The ability to reply by making a return call may not be available, depending on how your company has chosen to implement the system. The ability to reply by leaving a message is available only if the sender of the message is a uOne user. |
Once you return a call, you are no longer in a uOne session.
Step 2 Press 1. If the caller is a uOne user, the system dials the caller's number. If the caller is not a uOne user, the system prompts you for the phone number.

Note Once you place the call, you are no longer in a uOne Session. |
Step 2 Press 2 again. The system prompts you to record your reply.
Step 3 Press # when you have finished recording.
Step 4 Press 1 to send the message. The system returns you to the message to which you were listening.

Note When you press # to finish your recording, you receive the standard options for editing a message, found in the "Editing a Message" section of the "Send Messages" chapter of this guide. |
You can forward a message to another uOne user or multiple uOne users, with or without a comment. A comment is a message you add to the beginning of the forwarded message---for example, "Hi, Bob, I'm forwarding you this message from Susan about today's meeting."

Note You cannot forward a confidential message from the phone. |
To forward a message, perform the following steps.
Step 2 Perform one of the following:
Step 3 Press # after you have entered all recipients.
Step 4 Either forward the message with a comment, or forward it without a comment as follows:
Press 1 to record a message:
a. If you press 1, you are prompted to record a message.
b. Press 1 to send the message.
Press 2 to send the message without a comment:

Step 5 After you forward the message, the system returns you to the message you forwarded. You can then save or delete the message.
You can replay a voice message you have already heard as follows.
Step 2 Press 1 to replay the message.
