When you record your all-calls greeting, the system uses it for all calls unless you activate another greeting. In addition to your all-calls greeting, you can record greetings that are used for specific types of calls, such as calls received after the close of business or when your line is busy. If you don't record an all-calls greeting or call type specific greeting, your callers will just hear your name.
Step 1 Press 3 from the Main menu.
Step 2 Listen to the prompts and record one of the following greetings:
| Press: | To: |
1 | Record your all-calls greeting. |
2 | Record a greeting for no-answer calls (when you're not in). If activated, this greeting overrides the all-calls greeting. |
3 | Record a greeting for busy calls (when you're on the phone). If activated, this greeting overrides the all-calls greeting. |
4 | Record a greeting for out-of-business-hours calls (when your office is closed). |
5 | Record a greeting for an extended absence (when you're away from the office for an extended period of time). Callers cannot leave you a message when this greeting is active. |
6 | Record your name for the system greeting. |
Step 3 Press 1 to activate your greeting. You must activate your greeting before the system can play it.
| Press: | To: |
1 | Listen to the greeting. |
2 | Start/stop using a previously recorded greeting. |
3 | Rerecord the greeting. |
6 | Erase the greeting. |
