You can listen to voice messages.
Step 1 Dial the access number. The system answers with a welcome greeting.
Step 2 Perform one of the following:
Step 3 From your own phone, press #.
Step 4 From any other phone, enter your phone number and press #.
Step 5 Enter your PIN and press #.
Step 6 If you have urgent messages, the system asks if you want to hear them first. The system plays urgent messages in the order received (FIFO queuing). If you choose not to hear your urgent messages, then the system will include them with your other new voice messages.
Step 7 After the urgent messages, the system tells you how many new voice messages you have.
| Press: | To: |
|---|---|
1 | Replay the message. |
2 | Respond to the message and skip to the next message. |
3 | Delete the message. |
# | Save the message and skip to the next message. |
4 | Forward the message. |
5 | Play the message header. |
6 | Make the message new. |
7 | Rewind the message. |
9 | Advance the message. |
*7 | Return to the previous message. |
You can delete messages you don't need anymore. In fact, it's best to keep your mailbox free of unnecessary messages. (Your Systems Administrator defines the maximum message storage.) When your mailbox is full, callers will not be able to leave you a message until you delete old messages from your mailbox.
You can retrieve any message you deleted during your current message retrieval session. However, once you stop getting your messages either because you go to another messaging function or you hang up, the system will remove any message that you marked for deletion.
Step 1 Press *7 to back up to the previous message until you reach the message you deleted. The system identifies the message as a deleted message.
Step 2 Listen to the message and take one of the following actions.
When you save a message the system moves the message to storage.
You can make a saved or deleted (and then retrieved) message new again. This is useful if, for example, you want to remind yourself to respond to a message at a later time.
Step 1 Listen to the message.
Step 2 Press 6 to make it new again.
The system tells you it made the message new, and then skips to the next message.
There are two ways you can respond to a voice message you receive: by making a return call or by leaving a message.
Once you return a call, you are no longer in a uOne session.
Step 1 After listening to the message, press 2 to respond.
Step 2 Press 1. If the caller is a uOne user, the system dials the caller's number. If the caller is not a uOne user, the system prompts you for the phone number.
Step 1 After listening to the message, press 2 to respond.
Step 2 Press 2 again. The system prompts you to record your reply.
Step 3 Press # when you are done recording.
Step 4 Press 1 to send the message. The system returns you to the message to which you were listening.
You can forward a message to another uOne user or multiple uOne users, with or without a comment. A comment is a message you add to the beginning of the forwarded message, for example, "Hi Bob, I'm forwarding you this message from Susan about today's meeting."
Step 1 After you listen to the message, press 4 to forward it.
Step 2 Perform one of the following:
Step 3 Press # after you've entered all recipients.
Step 4 Press 1 to forward the message with a comment, or 2 to forward it without a comment.
If you press 1, you're prompted to record a message. If you press 2, the system sends the message and returns you to the message you forwarded.
Step 5 If you forwarded it with a comment, press 1 to send the message. After you forward the message, the system returns you to the message you forwarded. You can then save or delete the message.
You can replay a voice message you've already heard.
Step 1 Listen to the message.
Step 2 Press 1 to replay the message.
