Introduction

Audience

This manual is written for developers and systems engineers who install and configure the uOne application in their lab. It assumes these people have experience with Cisco CallManager, NT, and networking.

Prerequisite Knowledge

The user of this manual should have a reasonable understanding of the following:

• Standard Operations Procedures.

• Networked computing solutions design.

• Internet messaging architectures.

• Networking architecture design.

• Standards knowledge (LDAP, IMAP, VPIM, AMIS-A, TCP/IP, etc.).

• IP Telephony (Cisco and H.323).

• Manipulating logs and generating reports in an NT environment.

• The selected hardware platform and 3rd party software (e.g., Netscape Directory Server, Netscape Messaging Server, etc.) including availability and scalability design issues.

• uOne Architecture.

Document Conventions

This manual uses the following notational conventions:

Bold text is used for emphasis to indicate an important keyword, filename, input data, etc.

The courier fixed-width type style is used to present actual shell command input and output.

Text enclosed in angle brackets is used to present non-literal text to be filled in by the user or optional command input (e.g., <fax number>).

Italic text is used to represent uOne 4.1E features.
