Please refer to the Netscape Directory Server installation guide that comes with the server. These instructions do not replace the Netscape Directory Server installation instructions. The following are notes on specific Netscape Directory Server settings that affect uOne operations.
Step 1 Obtain the proper version of Netscape Directory Server (d312eiu.exe).
Step 2 Run the Netscape Directory Server Installation file to launch the installation wizard that guides you through a series of dialog boxes. These dialogs typically have the Next and Back buttons to proceed to the next and previous dialog boxes, respectively.
Step 3 Click on the Next button of the opening dialog box.
Step 4 On the Software Installation Options dialog box choose "Netscape Directory Server" and then click the Next button.
Step 5 On the Software License Agreement dialog box, read the license agreement and determine whether or not you wish ti agree to its provisions. Click on the appropriate response. If you choose not to agree with the provisions of the license agreement, you must stop the installation process.
Step 6 On the Software Destination Location dialog box choose "<path>\SuiteSpot" (e.g., C:\Netscape\SuiteSpot) and then click the Next button. Use the Browse button to select a different directory.
Step 7 For server authentication enter the following information and then click the Next button.

Step 8 For server port selection enter the following information and click the Next button:

Step 9 The wizard displays a server configuration summary. Select the Next button to proceed to the end of the installation.
Step 1 Finish the installation by choosing to open the browser to Netscape Server administration, and by deselecting the View the Read Me file checkbox.
Step 2 Click the Finish button.
Step 3 Login by entering <admin server username> and <admin server password>. Click Login to login after you enter the above information.
Step 4 If you are using Netscape Communicator for the first time (that is, you are performing a first time installation), then Netscape Communicator will prompt you to enter your name and e-mail in one dialog box, and your SMTP Server in another. Enter your name and e-mail in the first dialog box and click OK. Simply click OK for the second dialog box that asks for the SMTP server. If you are re-installing the uOne, you will not see these dialog boxes.
Step 5 Using Netscape administration server, continue to create the Directory by clicking on the hyperlink Create New Netscape Directory Server 3.1.
Step 6 On the Directory server installation web page enter the following information and click the OK button:

Once you have finished, a message box appears containing confirmation that you have started a new directory server. Click the OK button. A new web page should appear saying "Success!" at the top. It will also confirm the installation by stating "Created new Directory Server on <Server Name>, listening to port 389, serving database in <database directory>."
Step 7 Click on the hyperlink Configure more about your server.
Step 1 Select the Access Control button at the top of the dialog box. Log in to the ACL dialog box as cn=Directory Manager, o=Organization.
Step 2 Password: <rootdn password> (e.g., spmaster123).
Step 3 Select "OK" to login.
Step 4 Create a new ACI by selecting "New ACI".

Step 5 To change "Deny" to "Allow", click on Deny, select "Allow" from pop-up box and select "Update".

Step 6 Enter "o=Organization" as the Target (in the Target text box).
Step 7 Enter the password (such as spmaster123) in the Password text box.
Step 8 Select "Submit" to create the new ACI.

Once you have finished, a new message dialog box appears and says "Add Succeeded". When the Access Control Overview window appears, it should contain four items. If it doesn't, you probably forgot to click the Submit button. If this is the case, go back to step 1.
