The following additional information has been added to augment existing chapters:
The following chapters are no longer applicable, and should be disregarded:
Also, the following corrections to existing chapters must be noted:
uOne Administration, Installation and Operations Manual, User Administration chapter:
Under the section titled, Class of Service there is a note stating that the Class of Service features are not available. Class of Service features are available in this release of uOne.
Installation, Administration and Operations Manual, Configuration of CallManager chapter:

User's Guide, Get Messages chapter: The advance command is not available in this release of uOne.
Product Description, uOne Features chapter: The advance and append commands are not available in this release of uOne.
Each section below replaces its corresponding chapter, or chapters, in the existing manuals.
(This chapter replaces the chapter titled Using the Unattended Installer in the Installation, Administration and Operations guide.)
The Automated Installer comes on a separate CD and installs uOne and its supporting servers.
Please check that the following have been completed prior to installing uOne:
The Automated Installer is designed to assist in the installation and configuration of the uOne software. Before beginning the installation process, the Automated Installer will perform some checks to ensure that the parameters for a successful installation are in place.
If the parameters needed to begin the installation process are not in place, the Automated Installer will make the necessary corrections. For example, if the NT Administrator password has a value, you will be prompted to enter that password in a dialog box during installation. The Automated Installer will then save that password, change the password to null during installation, then return the password back to its original state.
Domain Name Restrictions
The domain name is an important element of your system, and must adhere to certain parameters in order for the installation to complete successfully. The domain name must adhere to the following restrictions:
1. It must be 32 characters or less. If it is not, the automated installer will truncate the name to the last 32 characters of the name.
2. It must be a top level domain name, i.e., machine.com rather than cisco.machine.com. If it is not, the automated installer will insert dashes in place of the dots to create a top level domain.
If the domain name is not appropriate for the installation, the automated installer will correct it to ensure a successful installation. Please refer to the examples below for inappropriate domain names, and examples of how those names would be corrected during the automated installation:
| Inappropriate Domain Name | Problem | Corrected Domain Name |
machine.cisco.com | Not a top-level domain name. | machine-cisco.com |
voicemailsystemforuonemachineone.com | More than 32 characters. | emailsystemforuonemachineone.com |
machine_for_voice.systemone.cisco.com | Not a top level domain name, and more than 32 characters. | ne_for_voice-systemone-cisco.com |
To determine if your domain name was changed during the automated installation, please refer to the Checking Your Domain Name section of this chapter.

Step 1 Create a temporary file backup folder. The folder c:\uOneTemp is suggested.
Step 2 Copy the files from the c:\CiscoSystems\uone\parms to c:\uOneTemp. Be sure to include all files from the sub-directory parms, including all.ini files, configuration files and sub-folders.
Step 3 Create a sub-folder c:\uOneTemp\ldapdata.
Step 4 Save a copy of the Directory data:
The above copy commands assume that you are still in the directory c:\netscape\suitespot\slapd-<machine>.
Step 5 Select Start from the Windows taskbar, then Programs, then Administrative Tools, then choose Backup.
Step 6 Select the C: drive of the system and click on the Backup button. A request for parameters for the backup procedure will appear.
Step 7 Select the full backup option with full details. Note also the log file location for the procedure. Click on OK.
Step 8 The Backup will start. A prompt will appear for the files that will be skipped over (the ones currently in use), as those files are opened. Press Cancel to agree to skip each file. (If Cancel is not selected, the file will be skipped after a 30 second delay.)
The logs for the backup would show certain files, i.e.,
Folders <uOne folder>\admin\logs<uOne Folder>\containers\system<uOne folder>\logs\
<uOne Folder>\temp\Netscape\Suitespot\slapd-<machine name>\db
Netscape\Suitespot\mailserver\mailbox\,user.\_lock_
Netscape\Suitespot\mailsever\spool\logs\
Netscape\Suitespot\mail-<fully qualified machine name>\logs\ will have certain files that are skipped. These "skipped" files are those in use when the backup is run. This does not hamper the restore as all of the configuration and database information has been backed up.
This procedure takes approximately 15 to 45 minutes when the specified tape drive from Compaq is in use and depending on the number of users on the system, and the amount of voice mail each user has.
Step 1 The Restore application of Windows NT must be run to retrieve drive C:.
Step 2 After the restore from the tape is done, verify that the backup ldif and the database exist in the directories \netscape\suitespot\slap-<machine>\ldif and \netscape\suitespot\slapd-<machine>\bak
Step 3 Stop the Netscape Directory Server by selecting Start, Settings, Control Panel, then double-clicking on the Services icon. Select Netscape Directory Server and click on Stop. Close the Services window.
Step 4 Run the executable "bak2db" from the command prompt at \netscape\suitespot\slapd-servername Bak2db - this will create the db directory for the system from the backup copy
Step 5 Run the executable "ldif2db" from the command prompt at Ldif2db NetscapeTemp.ldif - this will recreate the subscriber database.
Step 6 Verify that the files in the folder <uOne Folder>\parms have been returned by the restore operation. If they have not, copy the same files from the folder \uOneTemp.
Step 7 Restart Netscape Directory Server by double-clicking on the Services icon, selecting Netscape Directory Server and clicking on the Start button. Close the Services window and the Control Panel dialog box.
The following additions augment existing chapters of the documentation.

On your hard drive, double-click on the executable icon for Diskeeper that you downloaded. The software will install.
The Diskeeper software should be installed LAST, after uOne and all other components have been installed.
(This section augments the User Administration chapter of the Installation, Administration and Operations guide.)
It is critical that if you change the NT Administrator password, you also change the password for the Netscape Messaging server. If these passwords do not match, uOne users will not be able to access their mailboxes.
To correct the problem of non-matching passwords:
Step 1 Verify the error.
(a) Select Start from the Windows taskbar, then choose Programs, Administrative Tools, then Event Viewer. A logon error for the Messaging server will appear within the list of log files.
(b) Close the Event Viewer.
Step 2 Select Start from the Windows taskbar, then choose Settings, Control Panel, then Services.
Step 3 Double-click on Netscape Messaging Server.
Step 4 In the Password text box, enter the password used for the NT Administrator. Re-enter the password in the Confirm Password dialog box and click OK.
Step 5 Select Netscape Messaging Server from the Services list and click on the Start button. Close the Services window.
