System Requirements

Upgrade Instructions

Installing and Running the executable:

Step 1 Stop all services by choosing Start from the Windows taskbar, then Control Panel, then Services.

Step 2 Select SCM and choose Stop from the buttons on the right side of the window. This should stop not only SCM, but also uLite, uLogRemover, uTel, and uPilot.

Step 3 Close the Services dialog box, then close Control Panel.

Step 4 Insert the CD into the computer. If the listing of files available on the CD does not automatically appear follow the bullet steps below. If the listing of files does appear, continue with Step 5:

Step 5 The file uone-411e-8portupgrade-nt40.exe will be within the contents of the CD located on the right side of the Explorer window.

Step 6 Double-click on this file to run the executable.

Step 7 The license installation can be confirmed by selecting the uOne directory, double-clicking the subdirectory Logs and confirming that the number of session configuration files now available is eight.

Configuring Call Manager:

Step 1 From the Windows taskbar, click on Start, then select Programs.

Step 2 Choose Cisco CallManager 2.4.

Step 3 Select CallManager Administration. From the menu bar located near the top of the screen, select Configuration.

Step 4 Click on Cisco IP Phone. A phone list will appear on the left side of the screen. Note the number of CiscoUM devices. If only four are currently available, an additional four must be added to support the four new ports.

Step 5 In the paragraph to the right of the phone list, select Device Wizard.

Step 6 At the Device Type prompt, select Cisco Voicemail from the dropdown menu and then click Next.

Step 7 Click on the Existing button to the right of the Device Name prompt.

Step 8 From the dropdown menu, select CiscoUM, then click on the Next button.

Step 9 At the Device Pool prompt, select Default Pool from the drop down menu and then click on the Next button.

Step 10 At the Location prompt, select Hub from the drop down menu and then click on Next.

Step 11 At the prompt: How many directory numbers would you like to create?, select 4 from the dropdown menu.

Step 12 Beneath that directory number request is the prompt: What is the pilot directory number? This number is the first number of the New devices added. (Example: If the first devices were given the numbers 1001-1004, the numbers of the newly added devices should pick up where those numbers left off, i.e. 1005) The prompt for the operator number can be left blank. Click on the Next button.

Step 13 The next screen should display the four new devices correctly labeled, each forwarding to the next consecutive number. Click on the Next button.

Step 14 The Device Wizard Confirmation window should now appear, displaying the four devices to be added. Click on the Finish button.

Note This completes the installation of the new devices. The following instructions modify the original existing devices to link them with the newly created four.

Step 1 Using Cisco Call Manager Administration, click on Cisco IP Phone.

Step 2 Select the phone CiscoUM-VI4.

Step 3 Under the Forward menu, on the right side of the window, select 1004 (i.e. the directory number of the last device of the initial four).

Step 4 In the Call Forward Busy Destination dialog box, insert the number of the first new device (Example: 1005).

Step 5 Insert the same number into the Call Forward No Answer Destination prompt.

Step 6 From the menu Select Cisco IP Phone again.
