Items to Check Prior to Configuring CallManager

Before you configure CallManager, you need to know the following information. Use this table as a worksheet.

Parameter Example Your Value

MWI-On directory number

1999

MWI-Off directory number

1998

Cisco Voice Mail directory name

CiscoUM

Cisco Voice Mail directory number

1001-1004

Cisco Voice Mail directory name for MWI

CiscoMWI

Cisco Voice Mail directory number for MWI

1997

Note The above numbers are phantom numbers, because they are outside the range of numbers specified by the auto-registration feature in CallManager.

Configure Devices using the Device Wizard

You configure CallManager for uOne by using the Device Wizard. Ensure that you have the proper version of CallManager: 2.4 or higher.

Step 1 In the Start menu, select Programs, Cisco CallManager 2.4, CallManager Administration. The Cisco CallManager web page appears on the screen.

Step 2 Click the Configuration button.

Step 3 Click the Device Wizard button.

Step 4 In the Device Type drop down list, pull down the menu and select "Cisco Voice Mail", and click Next.

Step 5 In the Device Name text box, enter the name of the device. This name must match the name entered in the SS.ini file (for example, CiscoUM).

Step 6 In the optional Description text box, enter descriptive text about the device (e.g., Message System for cert1) and click Next.

Step 7 In the Cisco Voice Mail drop down list select () and click Next.

Step 8 In the Device Pool text box, select "Default Pool" from the pull-down menu and click Next.

Step 9 In the Location drop down list select the default and click Next.

Step 10 In the How many directory numbers would you like to create? drop down list, select a number from the list. This number is equal to the number of uOne ports. For example, if you have 4 ports, you would need 4 devices.

Step 11 In the What is the pilot directory number? text box, enter the directory number of the first device. This must be the same as the number in the SS.ini file.

Step 12 Scroll down to the last CiscoUM entry and forward the number back to the pilot number to create a loop.

Note The pilot number for the MWI light is not the same as the pilot number that connects uOne with CallManager. Thus, the system uses two pilot numbers.

Step 13 In the What is the operator number? field, leave it blank. The Device Wizard now generates all the devices, numbered sequentially.

Step 14 Click Next. A confirmation screen appears.

Step 15 Click Finish and then click OK.
