You use uPower to add and modify users for a Netscape Messaging Server implementation.
When a System Administrator adds a user to uOne using uPower, the system creates a profile for the user in the Netscape Directory Server. This user profile information includes the user's mailbox ID, uOne password, and the class of service, as well as various settings and options. It also creates a mailbox for the user on the Netscape Messaging Server. This mailbox, identified by the user's telephone number, contains an inbox folder, a trash folder, and may contain other folders that the user creates.
All Classes of Service to which you must assign users must have entries in the LDAP database.
You can create a shortcut on the Windows NT Desktop that allows you to load easily the Netscape Browser and bring up the uPower/UMSA web page. To create such a shortcut, perform the following steps:
Step 1 Right click the mouse on the Windows NT Desktop. This action brings up a popup menu.
Step 2 Select New.
Step 3 Select Shortcut.
Step 4 When the Create Shortcut dialog box appears, type in "http://<hostname>:280/MSGadmin", and click Next.
Step 5 Enter "uPower" for the title and click Finish. The uPower shortcut appears on the Desktop.
You access uPower/Unified Messaging System Administration (UMSA), a web-based tool, to:
To access uPower/UMSA:
Step 1 Double-click the uPower shortcut icon you created on the Windows NT Desktop in the last section. If you have not created that shortcut, invoke the Netscape browser and type the following URL:
http://<hostname>:280/MSGadmin
This will bring up the login screen for the Class of Service Administration tool.

Step 2 Type the following e-mail ID and password to authenticate:
e-mail id: root@<fully qualified messaging server host name>
password: 1234

A class of service is like a template that defines a common set of uOne services for a group of users. Classes of Service (COS) can be used to bundle feature sets into distinct packages that define certain attributes of an account, such as the type of service (voice and e-mail), mailbox quotas, number of distribution lists, and the size of distribution lists.
The COS function facilitates administration of common features by user group. Only the Systems Administrator can change the features covered under the COS; they can not be customized by individual users. When an attribute is changed in a COS, it is changed for all the users in that COS.

You can use Classes of Service to provide different bundles of services to match different types of users. For example, your company may have one set of users who mainly work at their desks and require a limited set of services (e.g.,"class of service A"), and a second set of users who are always on the road and require a larger set of service (e.g., "class of service B").
Step 2 Click the COS Administration button.
