This chapter discusses how to set up each type of IP/TV server, and includes the following sections:
Follow these steps to set up the Cisco IP/TV 3400 Series Servers:
Step 1 Unpack all the components of your Cisco IP/TV 3400 Series Server.
Step 2 Review the safety precautions outlined in the Regulatory Compliance and Safety Information for Cisco IP/TV 3400 Series document supplied in your server accessory kit.
Step 3 Completely read the Release Notes supplied in your server accessory kit. Use the Release Notes to ensure that all the pieces of your server accessory kit have been shipped to you.
Step 4 If desired, you can mount the servers in a standard 19-inch rack. Mounting rails for the system can be purchased from your rack supplier.
Figure 2-1 shows the front panel of the server with the door closed.
Figure 2-2 shows the front panel of the server with the door open.
Figure 2-3 shows the back panel of the server.

Step 5 Connect the power cord, mouse, keyboard, and video monitor.
Step 6 Connect the network interface to either a 10-Mbps or 100-Mbps Ethernet connector.
Step 7 Turn on the primary AC power switch on the back of the unit, and then turn on the secondary power switch on the front of the unit.
You can use the Ultra Wide SCSI as a backup/archive device interface.
