Server Rebuild Instructions

This appendix contains the procedure for restoring the system to the shipping configuration.

Caution All data on the system is lost when you follow this procedure.

You will need to obtain the following floppy disk and CD-ROM shipped with the 3400 Series Servers system:

• IP/TV 3400 Series Servers Rebuild Floppy

• IP/TV 3400 Series Servers Rebuild CD-ROM

Follow these steps to restore the system to shipping configuration:

Step 1 Insert the floppy disk into the floppy disk drive and the CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive and start the system unit or reset the system if it is already running.

Step 2 Enter the following information for the specific server you are rebuilding:

• For the IP/TV 3411, enter inst3411 and press Return.

• For the IP/TV 3415, enter inst3415 and press Return.

• For the IP/TV 3423, enter inst3423 and press Return.

• For the IP/TV 3431, enter inst3431 and press Return.

Step 3 Remove the floppy disk but do not remove the CD-ROM.

Step 4 Press Return to start the Restore process.

After the installation is complete, refer to "Customizing the Server Configuration."
