The Tools menu provides access to tools.
Figure 10-1, "Tools Menu Option," provides a view of the Tools menu option in the menu bar.

The Tools menu includes the following options:
To navigate through the Tasks functionality, implement the following steps:

The resulting window is Task Manager, as shown in Figure 10-3, "Task Manager."

This window has menu bars and a table with the following column headings:
The menu bars are:
Step 2 Click either of these menu bar items to activate it.
For a selection of actions to implement, implement the following steps:

Step 2 From the resulting Task Manager window, choose Actions, as shown in Figure 10-5, "Task Manager," appears.

Step 3 Choose the action you want to implement from the following choices:
The result is the window shown in Figure 10-6, "Task Chooser."

Step 2 Click any of the following items in the task list in Figure 10-6, "Task Chooser," to create a task with this Task Type, and go to the reference location for more information about how to create a task of this type.
Step 2 Click Delete Task from the drop-down from Actions.
In the window shown in Figure 10-5, "Task Manager," the grayed tasks are expired tasks.
Step 2 In the window, click Schedule from the drop-down from Actions.
Step 3 From the resulting Scheduler window, specify the frequency and schedule you want. See Chapter 13, "Scheduling."

The Task Manager window appears.
Step 2 From the Task Manager window, choose View > Refresh, as shown in Figure 10-8, "Navigating View > Refresh."

When you click Refresh, the window refreshes to the most current information.
To navigate through the Task Logs functionality, implement the following steps:

This launches a web browser that shows the logs of the various scheduled tasks, as shown in Figure 10-10, "Task Logs Information."

Step 2 In the top pane, if you click on Previous, you get the previous page of task logs. Also in the top pane, if you click on Next, you get the next page of task logs.
Step 3 If you click on a specific Log in the Logs column, the second-last column in the upper pane in Figure 10-10, "Task Logs Information," information appears in the bottom left pane. The information that appears is the state of the runtime task and when it started and ended, if it has ended; and the name of each action and when it started and ended.
Step 4 If you click on a specific action under the Actions heading in the bottom left pane, an Action Report appears in the bottom right pane. In the first row in the bottom right pane, you can click on Stdout/Stderr to view the standard output and/or standard errors or you can click on Errors to view all the errors for all actions in the specified task.
Step 5 If you click the Show Debug Messages box in the top pane, in addition to the Action Report in the bottom right pane, debug messages appear.
Step 6 If you click on Show All, all tasks appear in one page. Otherwise, the tasks are displayed in pages with 10 tasks per page.
Step 7 In the last column, you can specify the runtime task or tasks you want to delete. You can click in each box to check it and therefore start the process to delete the runtime task specified in that row. Otherwise, you can click on Check All or Clear All, in the top pane, to check all the tasks or uncheck all the tasks in the current page (not all the tasks in the Repository), respectively.
Step 8 After you check all the runtime tasks that you want to delete, as indicated in Step 7, click the Delete button at the top of the last column to delete these tasks and therefore, rows of information.

Note If you have a large number of runtime tasks (for example, 30 or more) that you wish to delete, when you click the Delete button, you may receive a time-out. The solution is to choose fewer runtime tasks to delete in Step 7 and then proceed again with Step 8. |
To navigate in User Administration and create a new user, edit the password for an existing user, or delete any user other than admin, you must have logged in as the super user admin.

Note If you change to a new install and use the existing Repository, you can presently log in only as admin and need to re-create the other users and passwords. To facilitate this, before you implement a new install, save the old passwordFile from the directory /<vpninstall>/vpn/etc. Then copy the saved passwordFile into the/<vpninstall>/vpn/etc directory of the new install. |
First, implement the following step and then follow the instructions for the specific task:

The User Administration Tool window appears. If you are the super user admin, from this window you can create a user identifier and password, edit the password, or delete a user identifier other than admin:
To create a new user identifier and password, implement the following steps as the super user admin:

The New User window appears.
Step 2 In the New User window, as shown in Figure 10-13, "New User Window," enter the following information:

Step 3 Click OK to accept this information or Cancel to cancel this operation.
Step 4 If you did not type the same character string for Password and Verify Password, you will get the message shown in Figure 10-14, "Warning When Password and Verify Password Do Not Match," and you will need to click OK. You will then be returned to the New User window and able to retry Step 2 and Step 3.
If you typed the same character string for Password and Verify Password, you will get no warning message and you can assume that the new user has been created with the specified password.

Step 5 The result is the User Administration Tool window with the newly added user identifier, as shown in Figure 10-15, "New User Shown in User Administration Tool Window."

To edit a password, implement the following steps as the super user admin:

The Edit User window appears.
Step 2 In the Edit User window, as shown in Figure 10-17, "Edit User Window," you can enter the following information:

Step 3 Click OK to accept this information or Cancel to cancel this operation.
Step 4 If you did not type the same character string for Password and Verify Password, you will get the message shown in Figure 10-18, "Warning When Password and Verify Password Do Not Match," and you will need to click OK. You will then be returned to the Edit User window and able to retry Step 2 and Step 3.
