Protocol History lets you view various statistics (such as utilization, packets, bytes, destinations, and errors) for a selected agent or Frame Relay agent within a selected domain. These statistics are displayed as a sliding window on a real-time basis according to an established refresh interval. The TrafficDirector application begins to report the statistics when you start Protocol History.
The following section contains information about starting and using Protocol History:
To start Protocol History, follow these steps:
Step 1 Click Protocol in the TrafficDirector main window.
Step 2 Click Agent or Frame Relay.
Step 3 Do one of the following:
Step 4 Select the Domain name you want from those listed under the Domain Name heading. You can also display additional Domain names by selecting a Domain Group from the Domain Group list.
Step 5 Click the Protocol History icon.
The Protocol History window opens (Figure 24-1).
The following sections contain additional Protocol History information:
From the Protocol History window, you can display the numerical equivalent of a point in the graph in the bottom left corner of the window.
To display a numeric value, follow these steps:
Step 1 Move the cursor to the point in the graph for which you want to display the numeric value.
Step 2 Click the left mouse button.
The numeric value is displayed in the lower left corner of the screen.
The Protocol History default viewing option is Utilization. This option shows the utilization percentage of the segment for the selected domain, as seen by the agent or Frame Relay agent. To change the viewing option, select an option from the View menu.
Table 24-1 describes the Protocol History viewing options.

The default Protocol History display is a line graph. To change the display to an area or bar graph, select an option from the Format menu.
