The Protocol History application lets you view various statistics for a selected agent or Frame Relay agent within a selected domain. These statistics are displayed as a sliding window on a real-time basis according to an established refresh interval. TrafficDirector begins to report the statistics when the Protocol History application is launched.
You launch the Protocol History application directly from the protocol level of the TrafficDirector main window. Use Protocol History to display statistics (utilization, packets, bytes, destinations, and errors) for a selected agent or Frame Relay agent.
To display the Protocol History window, take the following steps:
Step 1 Select the Agent or FrameRelay radio button.
Step 2 Select an agent from the Name list.
Step 3 Select a domain name from the Domain Name list. Select a domain group from the Domain Group list to display additional domain names from which to choose.
Step 4 Click the Protocol History icon.
The TrafficDirector Protocol History window (Figure 34-1) opens.

From the TrafficDirector Protocol History window, you can display the numerical equivalent of a point in the graph in the bottom left corner of the window. Move the cursor to the point in the graph for which you want to display the numeric value and click the left mouse button.
The numeric value is displayed in the lower left corner of the screen (Figure 34-2).

The Protocol History default viewing option is Utilization. This option shows the utilization percentage of the segment, as seen by the agent or frame relay agent, for the selected domain. To change the viewing option, select an option from the View menu. Table 34-1 lists the available options.
| Option | Description |
| Utilization | Shows the utilization of the segment as a percentage of the total. |
| Packets | Shows the number of packets per second seen by the agent or frame relay agent. |
| Bytes | Shows the number of bytes per second seen by the agent or frame relay agent. |
The default Protocol History display is a line graph. To change the display, select an option from the Format menu. Table 34-2 lists the available options.
