TrafficDirector includes two conversation applications, Conversation List and Conversation History. You use these applications to view detailed statistical information about conversations between hosts on a segment. Because these applications are designed to be launched for a single agent or domain selection, you can get more detailed information about conversations on a segment.
Use Conversation List to display detailed information about conversations between hosts on a segment. Conversation List displays a listing of all hosts on a segment that are exchanging packets. For example, if host A is exchanging packets with hosts D and G, the Conversation List shows a line for the conversation between host A and host D, a line for the conversation between host D and A, a line for the conversation between host A and host G, and a separate line for the conversation between host G and A. You can also use Conversation List to access the Conversation History application and display the utilization, packets, bytes, and error statistics related to a specific conversation between two selected hosts on a segment.
You can launch the Conversation List application in the following ways:
To launch Conversation List directly from the Traffic, Protocol, or Application level of the TrafficDirector main window, take the following steps:
Step 1 Select the Traffic, Protocol, or Application radio button to display the corresponding level of the TrafficDirector main window application area.
Step 2 Select the Agent, Switch Port With Routing Agent, AgentGroup, or FrameRelay radio button, then do one of the following:
Step 3 Select a domain from the Domain Name list.
Step 4 Click the All Convs icon.
The TrafficDirector Conversation List window (Figure 27-1) opens.
The Conversation List window default display is Name.This option shows the name of each source and destination host. To change the viewing option, select an option from the View menu. Table 27-1 lists the available options.

The Conversation List window sorts on Bytes, or the number of bytes, per conversation by default. To change the default, select an option from the Sort menu. Table 27-2 lists the available options.

Use the Conversation History application to see, on a real-time basis, activity between selected hosts as a sliding window. You can launch the Conversation History application in the following ways:
To launch Conversation History directly from any Conversation List, take the following steps:
Step 1 From the Conversation List displayed for an agent and domain, select a Source and Destination host name pair.
Step 2 Select Applications>Conversation History.
The TrafficDirector Conversation History window (Figure 27-2) opens.

You can launch the Conversation History window from the All Talkers application. When you select Applications from the All Talkers application, you see a list of applications that you can launch directly from the application you are running for the selected agent and domain.
To launch the Conversation History window, take the following steps:
Step 1 Select Applications>Host Zoom. Unavailable options are dimmed. The Host Zoom text window opens.
Step 2 Select Applications>Conversation History.
The Conversation History window (Figure 27-2) opens.
The Conversation History window default viewing option is Utilization. This option shows how much capacity is being used by the conversation displayed as a percentage of the total available capacity. To change the viewing option, select an option from the View menu. bar. Table 27-3 lists the available options.
