CWSI Network Map

CWSI Network Map

When you install CWSI, it discovers your network devices starting with the domain name of the seed device you specified during installation and displays a map of your network in the CWSI - Map window.

If you have not yet installed CWSI, refer to the CD booklet that accompanied the CD-ROM for information about installing CWSI.

Network Map--What it Shows

The network map displays the physical state of your network, including switches, routers, and links. When used with VlanDirector, the network map displays the VLAN network in your network, including VLAN Trunk Protocol (VTP) domains and the current spanning-tree configuration for each VLAN. The network map also serves as a launch point for CWSI applications, and allows you display reports about your network status.

Figure 3-1 illustrates the CWSI network map after the application has been launched.
