This chapter describes the steps you must follow to manually add additional Cisco StrataView Plus (SV+) hosts to an existing Cisco Info Center single-system architecture. To add additional Cisco StrataView Plus (SV+) hosts to an existing Cisco Info Center multi-system architecture, you must perform the following steps on all host machines.
Step 1 With an existing Cisco Info Center release already installed, and when new Cisco SV+ hosts are not to be added, continue to Step 12; otherwise, continue to Step 2.
Step 2 For each new Cisco SV+ host:
Step 3 On the Cisco Info Server host machine, using the editor of your choice, open the /opt/Omnibus/etc/nco_pa.conf file and create additional entries for each new Cisco SV+ host in the file's Routing Table section, as shown in the following example:
# Routing Table
nco_routing
{
host'<existing SV+ hostname>' 'NCO_PA'
host'<new SV+ hostname1>' 'NCO_PA'
host'<new SV+ hostname2>' 'NCO_PA'
}
Step 4 Refresh the $OMNIHOME/bin/nco_pad process on the Cisco Info Server host:
host# kill -HUP <nco_pad_PID>
Step 5 Open the Cisco Info Center Desktop GUI and select the Automation option from the Conductor window.
Step 6 Right-click on the DetectLookup-<host> option, then select Copy. Change the name of the new copy to reflect the new Cisco SV+ host name, then click on the OK button.
Step 7 Using the new copy, under the Condition tab, change the SQL query to reflect the new Cisco SV+ host name. For example, all <oldhostname>@NNM5 entries should be replaced with <newhostname>@NNM5 and all <oldhostname>@SV+ entries should be replaced with <newhostname>@SV+ in the query.
Step 8 Under the Settings tab, change the name of the Ascent Action to reflect the new Cisco SV+ host name, click on the Apply button, then click on the Close button.
Step 9 Right-click on the GenerateLookup-<hostname> option, then select Copy. Change the name to reflect the new Cisco SV+ hostname, then click on the OK button.
Step 10 Under the External Effect tab, edit the Host field to reflect the new Cisco SV+ hostname, click on the Apply button, then click on the Close button.
Step 11 Go back to Step 5 for all remaining Cisco SV+ hosts to be added.
Step 12 Verify the traps from all existing or new Cisco SV+ hosts are indicated correctly in the Event List.
