Introduction

Introduction

This manual provides you information on how to perform an automated or upgrade installation of Cisco WAN Manager (CWM) 9.2 and its associated software programs on an workstation running the AIX 4.2 operating systems.

This chapter describes the minimum hardware and software requirements for the Cisco CWM 9.2 release. It also provides a list of reference documentation.

Cisco CWM 9.2 for AIX must be installed on an IBM PowerPC. The AIX 4.2 operating system must be installed on the IBM PowerPC before you install Cisco CWM 9.2.

IBM's Netview 5.1 is used to produce Cisco CWM 9.2 topologies and for logging traps. When Netview 5.1 is already installed on your IBM PowerPC, proceed with the installation of Cisco CWM 9.2. Otherwise, you must install Netview 5.1 on the IBM PowerPC before you install Cisco CWM 9.2. For instructions on installing Netview 5.1, refer to the appropriate IBM documentation.


Note You are required to have UNIX system level experience to install
Cisco CWM 9.2 and its associated software programs.
