Cisco WAN Manager (CWM) release 9.2 uses the CiscoView version 4.1 program to manage AXIS release 4.1 (and above) shelves, as well as IGX and BPX release 9.2 equipment. AXIS releases up through 4.0 shelves are managed through the CWM Equipment Manager, which is launched instead of CiscoView when one of these shelves is selected.
To launch CiscoView from CWM, click on the Equipment Management button on the CWM Desktop window. If you are running HP OpenView, display a topology window and select the Equipment Mgr command on the Cisco menu. (This menu command is disabled unless an AXIS node or an AXIS-connected BPX node is selected in the Topology window.)
CiscoView is not launched when you select a supported device using the Equipment Manager window's Display Shelf View button.
The CWM Equipment Manager contains tools for configuring release 4.0 AXIS-shelf cards, lines, and ports. The CWM Equipment Manager may be viewed by multiple users at various CWM workstations. However, a single CWM desktop cannot run multiple sessions of the Equipment Manager.
When managing equipment, either through CiscoView or the CWM Equipment Manager, the CWM core processes must be running.
CiscoView is a separate product and is not installed during CWM installation. However, a CiscoView 4.2 product CD is included in the CWM product package and should be installed after you have completed installing the CWM software. For more detailed information, see the instructions in the CiscoView Installation Guide.
For information about using CiscoView, see that product's documentation. The following four documents are provided:
Click on the Equipment Management button on the CWM Desktop window to display the Platform Selection window.
The Nodes pane lists all of the nodes present in the network. The Shelves pane is empty when the window is first displayed. The Access Device pane is also empty when first displayed.

Boldfaced names indicate a node has shelves available for viewing. When you select one of these nodes, the shelves are listed in the Shelves pane.
To view details about a particular shelf, select its entry in the Shelves pane, then click on the OK button.
When you select a node and shelf that is managed from CiscoView (see the introduction to this chapter) and click on the OK button, CWM attempts to display the CiscoView application. When CiscoView is not installed, a message box is displayed indicating that the system was unable to invoke the Equipment Manager. Click on the OK button to close this message box and return to the CWM Desktop.
The Configure Clock Source window allows you to configure source of the network clock.

Card Type | Identifies the currently selected card. |
Slot # | Identifies the slot in which the currently selected card is installed. |

Secondary Clock Source | Identifies the setting of the secondary clock source. |

When the parameters are set, click on the Apply button to apply any changed parameters.
Click on the Reset button, to restore to their previous settings, any parameters you may have changed but not applied.
Click on the Cancel button to close the Configure Clock Source window without taking any action.
