Installing CWM SNMP Service Agent Software

This chapter provides step-by-step procedures to install the CWM Release 10 SNMP Service Agent software. The CWM SNMP Service Agent software installation uses InstallShield to simplify the process. Before installing the CWM SNMP Service Agent software on the CWM workstation, the following software should already have been installed (in the following order):

Solaris 2.7 Operating System
HPOV 6.10
WingZ 2.51
CWM Release 10 software (including CiscoView 5.1.30)

Refer to Chapter 1 for instructions on installing these products.

Note The CWM Release 10 SNMP Service Agent software is an optional package available at an additional charge. While the CWM Release 10 SNMP Service Agent software is not required to run CWM Release 10, it is used for flow through provisioning of PNNI SPVC supported by both BPX SES and MGX 8850 Release 2 networks.

Installing SNMP Service Agent Software

To install the CWM Release 10 SNMP Service Agent software, complete the following steps:

Step 1 Login to the CWM workstation as user root, and insert the CWM Release 10 SNMP Service Agent CD-ROM into the CDROM drive.

Step 2 Enter the following commands:

# cd /cdrom/cdrom0

# ls

Step 3 Check for the file Install.sh and begin the install process by entering the following command:

# ./Install.sh

After a few moments, the SNMP Welcome screen is displayed.

Step 4 Click Next on the Welcome screen to continue.

The installation process begins and an installation progress indicator is displayed on the Installing window. When completed, a final window displays indicating Installation Complete.

Step 5 Click Finish to end the installation.
