This chapter describes how to modify or delete SLCs and SLAs, and includes information on removing or renaming folders.

This chapter contains:

Overview

As your network needs change, you can modify and delete folders, SLCs, and SLAs. Some changes have no impact on data collection and subsequent reporting information; others do.

When modifying or deleting files, you select Service Level Management > Administration > Service Level Manager > Define Service Contracts from the CiscoWorks2000 Server desktop. The Cisco Service Level Manager window opens, as shown in Figure 6-1.

The dialog box closes, and the SLC is moved to the newly assigned folder.

Note You can select Cancel if you do not want to move the SLC. Your request is ignored and you are returned to the Cisco Service Level Manager window.

Modifying SLAs

When modifying SLAs, changes to parameters can result in the tear-down and subsequent setup of data collection on the source devices. When data collection is modified, data will be missing for a period of time, and gaps will appear when viewing reports.

Some parameter changes impacting data collection include: payload size, TOS, sampling intervals, new port assignment, and changing URLs, proxy server, and interpacket delay (VoIP).

Not all SLA changes impact data collection and reporting functions to this degree. If you modify thresholds, the new threshold information is available when you run the next report.

Note Changes to SLAs are not instantaneous. It can take several minutes before the change is implemented within the network.

To begin modifying SLAs, you select Service Level Management > Administration > Service Level Manager > Define Service Contracts from the CiscoWorks2000 Server desktop.
