If you are using URT 1.1, use this procedure to upgrade to URT 1.2. This procedure preserves your existing URT configuration, including user-to-VLAN mappings, whereas a straight installation of URT 1.2 would not preserve the configuration.
Step 1 Make a copy of the urt.dat file in the db\data\ subdirectory of the CWSI root directory. This file contains the URT configuration, and you will restore it later, so ensure you copy it to a safe location.
Step 2 Start URT and make a list of the URT servers, which are shown in the URT Servers folder in the left pane. You will need this list in order to uninstall the URT servers.
Step 3 Uninstall the URT management interface:
(a) Stop the ANI server process using Resource Manager Essentials.
(b) Open the Add/Remove Programs control panel by selecting Start>Settings>Control Panel, and then double-clicking the Add/Remove Programs icon.
(c) Select CWSI URT Upgrade in the list on the Install/Uninstall tab.
(d) Click Add/Remove, and follow the instructions.
Step 4 Uninstall CWSI using the Add/Remove Programs control panel.
Step 5 Uninstall the URT servers from each machine you identified in Step 2:
(a) Open the Add/Remove Programs control panel by selecting Start>Settings>Control Panel, and then double-clicking the Add/Remove Programs icon.
(b) Select URT in the list on the Install/Uninstall tab.
(c) Click Add/Remove, and follow the instructions.
Step 6 Install CiscoWorks2000 CWSI Campus (you can also install the full package) on your network management workstation. See the CiscoWorks2000 documentation for information on installing the program.
Step 7 Copy the urt.dat file created in Step 1 into the db\data\ subdirectory of the CWSI Campus root directory.
Step 8 Install the URT management interface on the CiscoWorks2000 machine:
(a) Insert the product CD-ROM in the Windows NT machine.
(b) Select Start>Run and enter:
d:\cwsiurtupgrade\setup.exe
Replace d: with the drive letter for your CD-ROM.
You are asked whether the installation program can stop the ANI process. You must stop the ANI process for the installation to continue.
Once the installation program starts, follow the on-screen instructions.
The CWSI Campus upgrade modules and the URT management interface are installed, and URT is added to the CWSI program group on the Start menu, and the ANI process is restarted.
Step 9 Install the URT servers on each of the machines identified in Step 2. If you install the URT servers on machines that have different IP addresses than the ones that originally hosted the servers, you must follow the procedure described in "Moving a URT Server" (Chapter 5) for each server whose IP address you have changed. See "Install the URT Server" (Chapter 2) for information on finding the information that is requested during URT server installation.
(a) Insert the product CD-ROM into the NT server.
(b) Select Start>Run and enter:
d:\urt\setup.exe
Replace d: with the drive letter for your CD-ROM.
Once the installation program starts, follow the on-screen instructions.
Step 10 On the network management workstation, start the URT management interface, and reinstall the URT clients on the Windows NT hosts. See "Install the URT Client Service on Windows NT Clients" (Chapter 2) for complete information.
Step 11 From the URT management interface, reinstall the URT scripts on the domain controllers. See "Install the URT Script on the Domain Controller" (Chapter 2) for complete information.
