You can install CD Two only on CD One 2nd Edition.
This section describes the server requirements and recommendations for CD Two.
The minimum system requirements for installing CD Two are shown in Table 1-1.

CiscoWorks 2000 CD One must be installed before installing CD Two. Refer to Installing and Setting Up CD One on Windows NT. |
| 1Disk space requirements are up to 10 times higher if you install CD One and CD Two on a FAT file system. |
The major consideration that can help you select or configure a system that best meets your needs is the number of managed devices you expect the Inventory application to manage, because the number of managed devices affects server performance and user report response time.
Table 1-2 shows the recommendations for a server running CD Two. These recommendations produce optimal response time when running user reports.
| Minimum System Configuration | Number of Managed Devices |
|---|---|
Pentium III: 450 MHz Memory: 256 MB Virtual memory: 1024 MB Available disk space: 4 GB | 0-500 |
Pentium III: 450 MHz Memory: 384 MB Virtual memory: 1024 MB Available disk space: 9 GB | 500-2,500 |
Dual Pentium III: 550 MHz Memory: 512 MB Virtual memory: 1024 MB | 2,500-5,000 |
The minimum client system requirements for CD Two are shown in Table 1-3. Before you can access the Inventory application from a client system, you must configure the system. If you had any errors during installation, check the installation log in the root directory on the drive where the operating system is installed. Each installation creates a new log file.
When a CiscoWorks2000 installation or uninstallation takes place, log files are created chronologically and stored in your C drive as C:\cw2000_inxxx.log, where x represents the three-digit system-generated number. For example, if the last install/uninstall log was C:\cw2000_in004.log, after installing CD Two, the CD Two install log would be stored in C:\cw2000_in005.log.
Before uninstalling CD Two, you must remove any applications that depend on CD Two.
Uninstalling CD Two takes about 10 minutes.
