Read Me First

The Routed WAN Management Solution (RWAN) on Windows NT consists of six CD-ROMs.

Note You must install the CD-ROM discs in this package in the correct order and on a system that meets specific requirements. You must configure client systems and some applications before use.

The Routed WAN Management Solution Bundle contains:

CiscoWorks2000 CD One Second Edition (CD One)--includes the CiscoWorks2000 Server, CiscoView 5.1, and the Network Management Integration Module which provides support for third-party Network Management Stations.
Resource Manager Essentials 3.1 (Essentials)--a web-enabled administration tool for collecting the monitoring, fault, and availability information needed to track devices critical to the network.
Access Control List (ACL) Manager 1.1--a web interface to a set of applications that manage the access lists of Cisco devices.
Access Control List (ACL) Manager 1.1 (Patch 2)--an upgrade patch of the software.
Traffic Director 5.8 (TD)--a RMON-based reporting tool for network traffic analysis.
Internetwork Performance Monitor (IPM) 2.2--a network response time and availability troubleshooting tool.

You must install the software in this bundle on systems that meet specific requirements. You must configure client systems and some applications before use. The tables on the following pages shows basic requirements, installation order, and the required and recommended configuration tasks. For step-by-step procedures and information about all features, refer to the online help and the documents shown in the table.

Minimum Server Requirements

Table 1 lists the minimum server requirements for each application and combinations of applications.

¹If you are not using embedded SQL server for Trend Reporter, you must have Microsoft SQL server v. 6.5 or higher and 32-bit Microsoft SQL client. Winsock-compliant TCP/IP stack v 1.1 or higher.
²Virtual memory should be double the RAM. If your server has more than the minimum RAM, you must have more than the minimum virtual memory.
³Do not install on a FAT file system.
⁴Service Pack 6 is not supported.

Minimum Client Requirements

Table 2 shows the minimum client requirements for a network with 950 or fewer devices. For information on configuring client systems, refer to Installing and Setting Up CiscoWorks2000 CD One Second Edition on Windows NT.

Order of Installation

Before upgrading any of the software in this package:

Familiarize yourself with the procedures and other information in the following table.
For each task, read the document listed in the Reference column.
Perform the upgrade installations in the exact order listed.

Table 3 shows the exact order in which the software in this bundle has to be installed. Before you begin the installation process, ensure that the recommended hardware requirements are met.
