This section contains:
| ID | Summary | Explanation | ||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
None | Campus and QPM-COPS cannot co-exist. | Do not install Campus Manager 3.0 on a server that has QPM-COPS 1.0 installed. They cannot coexist. | ||||||
None | Catalyst 3500 series is supported in IP mode only. | Campus Manager supports the Catalyst 3500 series in IP mode only. Cluster mode is not supported. | ||||||
None | Launching a telnet session, print, export or similar operations fail and the Java Console displays the error | Browser is waiting for you to answer Security Warning window. To work around the problem, check Always Trust content from Cisco in Security Warning window and it will not open again. | ||||||
CSCdm77812 | Non-empty CLASSPATH environment variable might produce erratic browser behavior. | If your system has a non-empty CLASSPATH environment variable, your browser might behave unpredictably. To work around the problem, unset CLASSPATH variable nonglobally:
| ||||||
CSCdm83204 | Applets do not work when accessed using localhost. | Campus Manager applets do not work when accessed using localhost. All three applets will launch, but then the system hangs. To work around the problem, access the server locally, with the full DNS name, or with the IP address. | ||||||
CSCdm86566 | Using online help with several applications. | In Campus Manager, if you open more than one application, the online help might be disabled for the first application opened. To work around this problem the problem, close the application and launch it again, or leave the Help window open when switching between applications. | ||||||
CSCdm88520 | Minimized windows do not become visible when selected from a Window menu. | If a window is minimized, you cannot make it visible by selecting it from a Window menu. To work around this problem, double-click the windowicon on the desktop. | ||||||
CSCdm89478 | Can not launch CiscoView from Campus Manager applications. | Sometimes CiscoView will not launch from any Campus Manager application. | ||||||
CSCdm95087 | DNS server required for Campus Manager. | Campus Manager requires a DNS server to function properly. Many functions will operate erratically or not at all if there is no DNS server on the network. | ||||||
CSCdp22312 | Cannot connect to different servers from the same client. | Campus Manager applications cannot be accessed on different servers from the same client and the same browser. You can however access the applications using different browsers. | ||||||
CSCdp57219 | Cannot upgrade CWSI Campus data to Campus Manager 3.0 format. | If the upgrade script was already run one time manually or by the upgrade program, it will not work a second time. To work around this problem, remove the upgrade timestamp from the end of the ANIServer.properties file and rerun the upgrade script. | ||||||
CSCdp74251 | Application performance very slow with HTTP proxy. | Application performance degrades significantly when running in an HTTP proxy environment. | ||||||
CSCdr01813 | CAM installation fails when CAM debug is turned on. | If Internet Explorer is your browser, CAM installation fails if you enable Turn on CAM debug output to Java Console in Client Manager Admin window. To work around problem:

![]() |
Note If you use Netscape Navigator as your browser, applications might take longer to launch. To improve application launch time, install CAM on your client system. For information on installing CAM, refer to the CiscoWorks2000 online help. |
| ID | Summary | Explanation |
|---|---|---|
None | The Edit>Copy command does not work properly in Netscape Navigator. | The first time you use Edit>Copy in Topology Services, it works. If you are using Navigator, additional copies do not work unless another Windows application has copied something to clipboard. To work around the problem, go into another Windows application and copy something. Edit>Copy now works. |
None | Telnet window not launched from PathTool and Topology services window on AIX clients. | Telnet does not work on an AIX client. This is because Navigator uses it own proprietary library, libc.a, which does not handle Telnet protocol. To work around problem:
Or
if test "${LIBPATH}xxx" = "xxx"
then
LIBPATH="${MOZILLA_HOME}/lib${OS_LIB}:${MOZILLA_HOME}:/usr/lib:/lib"

CSCdp76116, CSCdp98974 | Status bar or scrollbars are missing. | If you use Navigator to access Campus Manager, applications might occasionally open without a status bar or scrollbars. To work around the problem, resize window until they appear. |
CSCdp78225 | Memory usage increases after each Campus application launch in Navigator. | When you launch a Campus Manager application, Navigator allocates memory for libraries of services used by application. When you close application, does not release that memory. If you run that application again, it allocates more memory for same services and repeats for each subsequent launch. You can see memory use increase each time you launch a Campus Manager application. If you repeatedly launch enough, results are unpredictable, including closing abnormally. To avoid problem, launch each application only once or twice. If this problem occurs, close all windows and relaunch it. |
CSCdp89748 | Launching a second application causes Netscape Navigator to close abnormally. | In Navigator, if you launch one Campus application and then a second before the first finishes loading, Navigator might close abnormally. To avoid problem, wait until first application is fully loaded before launching another. Application is fully loaded when Loading window closes and main window of application is filled in. |
CSCdp99301 | Attempt to highlight a device or path fails. | If you use Navigator and installed CAM, an attempt to highlight a device or path might fail. To work around the problem, exit Navigator and make sure to launch User Tracking before Topology Services. |
CSCdr00667 | Netscape might stop responding if you open the Layer 2 summary window with more than 1000 devices. | If you use Navigator 4.7 as your browser and open Layer 2 summary window with more than 1000 devices, browser might stop responding. |
| ID | Summary | Explanation |
None | Cannot perform more than six traces at once. | Even though up to ten different clients can access Path Analysis at a time, it is possible for only six traces to be performed at once. |
CSCdm86617 | Invalid Layer 3 trace when entering netID or broadcast address. | Entering a netID or a broadcast address results in an invalid Layer 3 trace. |
CSCdm94196 | Exit button does not work on first attempt. | Sometimes, the File > Exit command does not work on the first attempt. Select the command again until the application exits. |
CSCdm94853 | Path Analysis window missing Trace subwindow. | Sometimes, Path Analysis does not launch correctly. To work around this problem, exit and launch again. |

Note Information displayed in a row might not reflect the most current network state. Because User Tracking discovery takes information from routers and switches, which collect their information at different times, the information in a row reflects the state of network or subnet at the time displayed in the Last Seen field. |
| ID | Summary | Explanation | ||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
None | Voice features are disabled. | These voice features are disabled in the Campus Manager 3.0 Beta release, but might be fully functional in the production release:
| ||||||
None | User Tracking discovery could span more than desired subnet. | When subnet discovery of user nodes is initiated, the devices in that subnet are marked for discovery. Because switches support multiple VLANs, the discovery could span more than the desired subnet. Therefore, User Tracking could discover additional end user nodes that are not in the selected subnet. | ||||||
None | Reset ANI Server after changing User and Host Acquisition setting. | If you change the User and Host Acquisition setting from the admin page, the ANI Server must be restarted for the setting to take effect in User Tracking. | ||||||
None | Information in User Tracking might not reflect most current state of network. | The User Tracking discovery process takes information from the router and switch CAM tables and displays the results as the state of the end user nodes on the network or subnet in the Last Seen field. Because these devices work in various VLANs and subnets and collect their information at different times, the information they have might not always be the most current. Therefore, the information displayed in the Last Seen field does not always reflect the most current state of the network or subnet. | ||||||
None | Changes made to Minor Acquisitions interval do not take effect until the next scheduled acquisition. | Changes made to the Minor Acquisitions interval (in the Acquisition Schedules dialog) take effect immediately after the changes are applied, and not according to previous schedule. For example, if the next scheduled minor acquisition will occur at 2:00pm, and at 1:00pm the interval is changed to 10 minutes, the next minor acquisition will occur at 1:10pm, 1:20pm, and so forth. | ||||||
None | Resetting Minor Acquisitions. | If you set the Minor Acquisitions interval to zero (to disable Minor Acquisitions), you can subsequently change the interval to a nonzero value, but the change will not take effect until the next time you start ANI (for example, by entering /usr/CSCOpx/bin/pdexec ANIServer from command line interface). | ||||||
CDCdp35178 | Problem saving advanced query. | If you use the Dismiss/Kill option in the Window Manager menu to close a dialog box, you might not be able to enter data in text fields of that dialog box. To work around this problem, click Cancel to close dialog boxes or relaunch the application. This problem occurs only in Netscape Navigator. | ||||||
CSCdk20561 | Catalyst 3000 devices shown as multiple host entries with same MAC addresses but different VLAN information, causing duplicate entries after each User Tracking discovery. | Catalyst 3000 devices display as multiple host entries with same MAC addresses but different VLAN information, causing duplicate entries after each User Tracking discovery. | ||||||
CSCdm78050 | Multi-homed hosts and workstations with ATM interfaces might not be properly discovered. | Workstations with multiple NIC cards with same MAC address might not be discovered correctly by User Tracking. IP address association might not be accurate or User Tracking table might show greater or fewer entries than expected. Workstations with ATM interfaces are treated as devices by ANI Server and are not discovered by User Tracking. | ||||||
CSCdm87741 | IP address not discovered for host. | Sometimes, the IP address of the host is not discovered. | ||||||
CSCdp37641 | The User Tracking table is sorted after some commands. | Some menu options also sort the User Tracking table due to a bug with Java. The bug IDs for javasoft.com's bug database are 4146342, 4127402, and 4155217. | ||||||
CSCdp38373 | IP addresses are not discovered from end hosts connected to transparent switches. | If an end host is connected to a transparent switch, IP address is not discovered and user name collection does not work. To work around this problem:
| ||||||
CSCdp42247 | Using the horizontal scrollbar causes the User Tracking window to go blank if you have a large number of entries in the User Tracking table. | Sometimes, when there are a large number of entries in User Tracking table, using horizontal scroll bar causes User Tracking window to go blank. To work around this problem, select Layout>Refresh Display. | ||||||
CSCdp45404 | End hosts connected to a Catalyst 2900XL or a Catalyst 3500XL running IOS 12.0 firmware are not discovered. | User Tracking does not discover end hosts connected to a Catalyst 2900XL or Catalyst 3500XL running Cisco IOS Release 12.0 firmware. This problem is fixed in Release 12.0(5)XU. | ||||||
CSCdp49192 | Changing a VLAN in a Catalyst 1900 or 2820 will not update the User Tracking database. | Sometimes User Tracking discovery does not find changes in a VLAN for a Catalyst 1900 or 2820 and does not update database. Therefore, VLAN information for end hosts connecting to 1900 and 2820 might be incorrect. To work around this problem, perform an ANI discovery followed by a User Tracking discovery. | ||||||
CSCdp50741 | User Tracking does not discover end hosts after a port or VLAN change. | User Tracking does not detect end hosts that are moved or reassigned from one port or VLAN to another. To work around this problem, perform a complete ANI discovery or an ANI discovery of device host is connected to followed by a User Tracking discovery. | ||||||
CSCdp53128, CSCdp58937 | Show All in Netscape Navigator with more than 10,000 end user entries causes the application to stop responding and the Java Console displays the error | Show All does not work on Navigator when more than 10,000 end users are discovered. Close and reopen all Navigator windows. To work around the problem, export entries instead of selecting Show All when there are more than 10,000 end users. When using Navigator, set memory cache to 65536 KB or higher. The 10,000 end user limit was tested on a 400 MHz Windows NT machine with 256 MB RAM and an Ultra 10 with 256 MB RAM. Internet Explorer supports up to 20,000 end users on a Solaris server and up to 27,000 end users on a Windows NT server without problems. |

Note Topology Services might display erratic behavior if there is no VTP server on your network. A VTP server is required for Campus Manager. |
| ID | Summary | Explanation | ||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
None | Unknown discovery behavior when no VTP server. | Topology Services might display erratic behavior is there is no VTP server on your network. A VTP server is required for Campus Manager. | ||||
None | OAM Ping is only supported if ATM Switch Processor version is 4.0 or above for devices with FC-PFQ card. | If a device has an FC-PFQ feature card, the OAM Ping command is supported only if the ATM Switch Processor version is 4.0 or later . | ||||
None | The supported ILMI configuration interface types are UNI, PNNI, and IISP. | In the Interface Configuration window of ATM Management, the only supported choices for the ILMI Configuration Interface Type are UNI, PNNI, and IISP. | ||||
None | Multilayer Switch Module gigabit ports displayed as unknown-duplex. | Multilayer Switch Module does not have the MIB to support half- and full-duplex on gigabit ports. Therefore, those ports are displayed as unknown-duplex. | ||||
CSCdm83659 | Catalyst 5000 ATM module ports might not be discovered. | Some Catalyst 5000 ATM module ports are not discovered, causing Device Attributes dialog box to display some modules as having zero ports. | ||||
CSCdm89567 | ATM domain separation does not occur automatically. | If you disable an ATM switch port after ATM domain discovery completes, any link from that port appears as a red or dotted line in the Topology view. Topology Services does not automatically delete links from disabled ATM switch ports unless they conflict with newly discovered links. Because link is no longer in network, ATM domain separation does not occur automatically. To work around the problem, force separation of ATM domains by highlighting affected links in the Topology view and select Edit >Delete Link(s). | ||||
CSCdm94344 | Cannot click and drag Ethernet Bus in map. | In the L2 or LAN Edge View map, you cannot click and drag the Ethernet bus. To work around this problem, select the bus using rubber band approach, including one device connected to the bus. Move the rubber banded selected area. | ||||
CSCdm94755 | IP address change is not updated in map. | If you change a device IP address, it will not be updated immediately on map. Device displays in red until next polling cycle. To manually update, delete device and rediscover network or run discovery on neighbors of device. | ||||
CSCdp36357 | The FastEtherChannel link is not discovered between Catalyst 6000 and Catalyst 8540CSR devices. | The link between a Catalyst 6000 device and a Catalyst 8540CSR device cannot be discovered. | ||||
CSCdp41167 | OAM Ping with End-End option only works between LS1010s. | The ATM OAM Ping with End-End option with IP address or NSAP prefix works only between LS1010s. | ||||
CSCDp42333 | If the SNMP manageable IP address of a device is changed, ANI may not detect such an IP address change. | The symptom of this is that the displayed device will continue to indicate the old IP address, even after one or more discovery cycles. It will be marked as unreachable or un-managed. To work around this problem, you could delete the "stuck" device, and rediscover the same. | ||||
CSCdp43999 | Maps and configuration dialogs display offset menus and list boxes in Netscape on a AIX client. | Sometimes, when a map or a configuration dialog is launched, the menus or list boxes are not displayed right below the menu. This offset occurs only in the Netscape Navigator browser on a AIX client. To work around this problem, move or resize the window. | ||||
CSCdp46215 | Print does not work properly when zoomed in. | Print option prints only as much of the upper left corner of the view that fits on one page. Even if you scroll to another part of the map, only upper left corner prints. To work around the problem, use Print when not zoomed in to view entire view or print a view with fewer devices. | ||||
CSCdp47638, CSCdp47670 | After a port change, both old and new link are displayed. | After a link is changed to a different port on the same device, both the old and the new link are still displayed. Instead of being displayed as a dashed red line, the old link remains as a solid red line. To work around this problem, delete all links originating from both devices and rediscover the two devices. | ||||
CSCdp48040 | The message "Topology Services already running" displays when the application is not running. | If you close the Topology Services window and the Loading Files pop-up window while Topology Services is still loading, you will not be able to relaunch the application. Wait for the application to launch. | ||||
CSCdp57898 | Deleting all links in an aggregate link on the Layer 2 View is not reflected in the Lan Edge View. | When you delete all links in an aggregate link on Layer 2 View, LAN Edge View is not updated. To work around this problem, verify Aggregate Link Attribute field is empty, indicating that links were deleted. | ||||
CSCdp69800 | Correct last fail cause not shown for LAN Emulation client. | If you select Diagnosis > LE Client > LE Client Status, last fail cause shown for a LAN Emulation client is cause reports by LAN Emulation server. | ||||
CSCdp79853 | You might have difficulty highlighting some links. | Some links, such as Token Ring links, might be more difficult to highlight than others. To work around the problem, click slightly above or below link to highlight it. | ||||
CSCdp87405 | Creation of VLAN in a domain or deletion of a VLAN from all switches in a domain changes the VTP mode on devices from transparent to server. | If you create a VLAN in a domain or delete a VLAN from all switches in a domain, VTP mode on devices changes from transparent to server. The problem occurs in Catalyst OS 3.2(8), 4.5(5), 5.2(3), and earlier versions. | ||||
CSCdp88318 | Link attributes not updated. | If you change link attributes, ANI Server does not properly discover and display change in reports. To update link attributes, delete device and rediscover it. | ||||
CSCdp90632 | LE Config Server Control Connections report has an empty ELAN field. | If LE Config Server Control Connections report has an empty ELAN field, assign appropriate non-zero values for the ELAN entries in the LECS database through CLI. | ||||
CSCdp94989 | VLAN deleted on switches in server mode is reported as deleted from transparent switch. | If a VLAN exists on both a VTP server and a transparent switch, and you delete it from VTP server only, it is reported as deleted from transparent switch also. VLAN is not actually deleted from switch and is reported in transparent switch domain after next discovery. | ||||
CSCdr00079 | Sometimes, after performing an operation in the VLAN/ATM configuration dialogs the cursor continues to indicate that the system is busy and the Cancel button does not work. | Some VLAN/ATM configuration dialog boxes do not close when you click Cancel, while cursor shows that system is busy. To work around the problem, close window by clicking Close button in upper right corner of dialog box. | ||||
CSCdr08035 | You cannot create LANE services from the Modify VLAN dialog box. | If you select Create a LES/BUS to create LANE services from Modify VLAN dialog box, configuration fails and Java Console displays To work around this problem:
| ||||
CSCdr09578 | Disable RMON is reported as successful even when it fails. | If you try to disable RMON and it fails on a device, no error message is displayed. To check if RMON is disabled, select Tools > RMON Data Collection > Show Enabled Devices. | ||||
CSCdr11577 | VC error chart is blank. | A blank chart could mean either a continuous polling failure or a failure due to other problems. For example, a blank VC error chart might be due to a continuous polling failure (of VC error related data) or because these statistics might not be supported on certain image versions of ATM switch being polled. | ||||
CSCdr11586 | Entering values in the Database Traffic Templates dialog fails and the Java Console displays the error | Some traffic values, such as PCR, MCR, and CDVT, should have numeric values. If a nonnumeric value is entered, error message is displayed. |
