Network Registrar 3.0 provides a web-based user interface that you install on a web server. The web interface is in addition to Network Registrar's graphical user interface and its command line interface. The web interface enables network operators to run status reports. Access to the web interface is from a url to a login page.
This document describes how to install the web-based interface on a web server.
To install the Network Registrar web user interface, make sure you have selected and installed the prerequisite software, including the web browser and the web server software. You need:
Before you install the web interface on the Netscape FastTrack or the Netscape Enterprise web server, verify:
For information about configuring the Netscape server and enabling SSL, refer to the relevant documentation from Netscape Communications.
To install the web interface on a server running the Windows NT operating system, follow these steps:
Step 1 On the Netscape FastTrack or Enterprise server, create these directories:
Step 2 On the server, locate the WebUI directory. It is a subdirectory of the Network Registrar directory and contains three subdirectories of its own:
Step 3 Copy the files in the \Network Registrar\WebUI\perl subdirectory to the Shell CGI directory that you created that has the prefix /cgi-bin.
Step 4 Copy Login.htm from the \Network Registrar\WebUI\docs directory to the web server's docs directory.
Step 5 Copy the files in the directory \Network Registrar\WebUI\ to the javascript directory that you created on the web server.
Step 6 Copy the NR30Help.htm file from the \Network Registrar\WebUI\docs directory on the server to the web server javascript directory.
Step 7 Restart the web server.
To install the web interface on a server running the Solaris operating system, follow these steps:
Step 1 On the Solaris server, create these directories:
Step 2 On the Network Registrar server, locate the WebUI directory. It is a subdirectory of the Network Registrar directory and contains three subdirectories of its own:
Step 3 Copy the files in the /Network Registrar/WebUI/perl subdirectory on the server to the CGI directory that you created on the server.
Step 4 Edit the .pl files, modifying the bang path (!) to point to where Perl is installed if this is different from the default path.
Step 5 Copy Login.htm from the /Network Registrar/WebUI/docs directory to the web server's docs directory.
Step 6 Copy the files in the /Network Registrar/WebUI/javascript directory to the web server's javascript directory.
Step 7 Copy the NR30Help.htm file from the /Network Registrar/WebUI/docs directory to the web server's javascript directory on the server.
Step 8 Restart the web server.
Before you install the web interface on the Microsoft IIS web server, verify:
