This chapter describes how to access inventory details for the Cisco DSLAM chassis and each card within the chassis. You can retrieve inventory information within the Map Viewer (Viewer) window by right-clicking on either the chassis or any card (an NI-2 card or a line card).
This chapter describes how to view the following inventory information:
The Chassis Inventory window allows you to view inventory information for a selected chassis. The Chassis Inventory window has two tabsGeneral and Asset Tracking. The General tab provides general details about the specific chassis, and the Asset Tracking tab provides various identification numbers relevant to the specific chassis.
To view the Chassis Inventory window, follow these steps:
The Chassis Inventory window appears (Figure 9-1).

Step 2 Select a chassis from the list box at the left (the first chassis object is selected by default.)

The Chassis Inventory window has two tabsGeneral and Asset Tracking, which are described in the following sections.
The General tab contains five areas:

Serial Number | Displays the serial number for the selected card. |
Number of Slots | Not applicable for CDM. |
Backplane Type | Not applicable for CDM. |
Type | Displays the chassis type. |
Environmental Monitor Type | Not applicable for CDM. |
Host Name | Displays the host name for the selected chassis. |
Boot Image Host | Displays the IP address of the host, which supplies the software currently running. |
Description | Displays the system hardware type, software operating system, and networking software of the selected chassis. |
ROM ID | Displays the system boot trap description and version identifier. |
Domain Name | Not applicable for CDM. |
Services | Displays the set of services potentially offered by the selected chassis. |
IOS | Displays the version of the Cisco IOS commands in the selected chassis. |
Software | Not applicable for CDM. |
Hardware | Displays the version of the selected chassis. |
Firmware | Not applicable for CDM. |
PCMCIA Slot Details | Not applicable for CDM. |
Power Supply Details | Not applicable for CDM. |

Assembly Version | Displays the number assigned by the manufacturer which uniquely identifies the component. |
Assembly Number | Displays the manufacturing assembly number, which is the hardware identification. |
Software ID | Not applicable for CDM. |

Common Language Equipment ID | Not applicable for CDM. |
Orderable Part Number | Represents the number used to reorder this component (part number). |
Orderable Equipment Manufacturer | Displays the equipment manufacturer of the chassis. |
To view the Module Inventory window, follow these steps:
The Module Inventory window appears (Figure 9-3).

Step 2 From the list boxes at the left, select the relevant chassis and card.
The status information for the selected card appears at the right.

Number of Working Ports | Not applicable for CDM. |
