Device Configuration
With the Device Configuration page, you can:
To configure device-specific SNMP information, such as the
host name, system contact, and location:
- In the Host Name field, enter a host name (up to 31
characters) for the command switch or a member switch.
Note: Make sure the host name is unique.
You can change the name of the command switch and member
switches.
Note: If you did not assign a host name
to command switch prior to launching the cluster
management software, it is assigned a default host name
of "Switch." Cluster members, without
previously assigned host names, are assigned the name
"Switch" plus a number ("Switch-1"),
which indicates the order in which the device was added
to the cluster. If you assigned a host name to a cluster
member prior to launching Cluster Builder, that name is
retained and displayed on the page.
- In the System Contact field, enter the name of the person
or the organization who is responsible for this switch
(up to 129 characters).
- In the System Location field, enter the location of the
system (up to 129 characters).
- Click OK.
If you changed the host name on a switch, the new name is
displayed on the switch in Cluster Manager.
- In Cluster Manager, click Save Config to
save the configuration change to nonvolatile memory.
The Device Configuration page automatically displays the
uptime in the System Uptime field for the selected cluster
member.
