This chapter provides the basic information you need to quickly install and configure the Cisco IP/VC 3530 VTA.
The site requirements needed to connect and configure the VTA are as follows:
This section provides basic instructions to let you quickly connect and configure the VTA. To quickly set up the VTA, perform the following steps:
See the "Setting the IP Address" section in the "Installing the Hardware" chapter.
Step 2 Connect the VTA to the network.
See the "Installing the Mounting Brackets," "Connecting the VTA to the LAN," "Connecting the VTA to a Room System," and "Connecting the VTA to a Power Source" sections in the "Installing the Hardware" chapter.
Step 3 Install the Cisco IP/VC Configuration Utility on the network computer that you will use to configure the VTA.
See the "Cisco IP/VC Tools" section in the "Installing the Cisco IP/VC Tools Software" chapter.
Step 4 Set the VTA operating parameters:
a. Start the Cisco IP/VC Configuration Utility.
b. Select or enter the IP address of the VTA you want to configure.
c. Specify the configuration source you want to use.
d. Specify the IP address and port number of the gatekeeper you want the VTA to use.
e. Specify the IP address of the router you want the VTA to use.
f. Specify the alias you want the VTA to have.
g. Specify the E.164 address or phone number you want the VTA to have.
h. Set a delimiter the VTA will recognize to delineate the second phone number in 2B calls.
i. Set default bandwidth values for incoming and outgoing calls. The VTA will only allow calls that reserve the specified bandwidth unless the caller uses a predefined prefix or suffix in the dial string to specify another bandwidth.
j. Upload the configuration file to the VTA Flash memory.
