This chapter describes how to install the Cisco IP/VC Tools software and how to access the Cisco IP/VC Configuration Utility to configure the Cisco IP/VC 3510 MCU. It also defines the function buttons found in the Cisco IP/VC Configuration Utility. The topics include:
Cisco IP/VC Tools is a software bundle that contains the utilities you can use to configure Cisco IP/VC 3500 family products. The utilities allow you to configure units by model type, create internal voice recording messages, and upload model software to Flash memory of the unit. This section describes how to install Cisco IP/VC Tools.
To install Cisco IP/VC Tools software, you must have the following:
To install the Cisco IP/VC Tools software, perform the following steps:
Step 2 Insert the Cisco IP/VC Software CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive.
Step 3 The CD-ROM is configured to deploy the installation wizard automatically.
If the computer is not configured to deploy the wizard automatically, perform the following steps:
a. Choose Start > Run.
b. In the Open field, type CD-ROM drive:\setup.exe
Step 4 Read the Welcome window and click Next.
A message window appears.
Step 5 The message window informs you of the readme file. We recommend that you read the readme file before continuing. Respond to the message as follows:
The Product Selection window appears.
Step 6 Select the Cisco IP/VC 3500 utilities and documentation you want to install on the computer as follows:
a. Check 3510-MCU to install the software utility and documentation for the MCU.
b. Check the check boxes of the other Cisco IP/VC 3500 products for which you want to install the software utilities and documentation.
c. Click Next when you are done.
The Choose Destination Location window appears.
Step 7 The Choose Destination Location window lets you choose where the Cisco IP/VC Tool files will be stored. Click Next. The Setup Type window appears.
Step 8 The Setup Type window lets you choose an installation method. Check the method you want to use:
Click Next. The Select Program Folder window appears.
Step 9 The Select Program Folder window allows you to select the program folder in which the utilities will appear. Click Next.
The files are set up on the computer and the Setup Finish window appears.
Step 10 Click Finish.
To access a Cisco IP/VC 3500 utility, perform the following steps.
Step 2 Click the utility you want to open.
This section describes the function buttons and shortcut keys that allow you to navigate the Cisco IP/VC Configuration Utility and to dispose of changes you make in the utility windows. The function buttons and corresponding shortcut keys are listed in Table 4-1. You can only use a shortcut key when the corresponding button appears in the active window. Buttons that provide configuration options are described in the appropriate sections of this guide.

Prev | Alt-P | Moves to a previous window; changes to parameter are discarded. |
Abort | Alt-A | Exits the Configuration Utility; changes are not saved. |
Finish | Alt-F | Moves configuration process forward to the Save window, where the configuration parameters can be saved as a set and uploaded to the unit. Parameters that are not changed are saved as is. |
Detect | Alt-D | Broadcasts a message over the network requesting identification from any Cisco IP/VC 3500 units that have not yet identified themselves. |
Load | Alt-L | Allows you to load an appropriate configuration parameter set into the current configuration utility. (Each gatekeeper definition table is regarded as a separate configuration utility.) |
Save | | Saves the parameters and exits the window. |
Add | Alt-D | Allows you to create and define a new parameter entry. |
Delete | Alt-T | Deletes the selected parameter entry. |
Edit | Alt-E | Displays the selected parameter entry, and allows you to changes the values. |
Apply | | Saves parameter changes without exiting the window. |
OK | | Saves the current parameter settings and exits the window or dialog box. For the gatekeeper, dynamic-only registration information is not saved. |
Cancel | | Returns to the previous window without saving changes. |
Yes | Alt-Y | Affirms that the current settings are correct and proceeds to the next window. |
No | Alt-N | Returns to the previous window. |
