Using the Cisco IP/VC Software Upload Utility

Uploading Files to the Gateway

The Cisco IP/VC 3520 Gateway stores information such as the operating software, BRI module drivers, FPGA files, and IVR messages on its on board Flash memory. The Cisco IP/VC Software Upload Utility allows you to update or upgrade any of these software modules in Flash memory.

Uploading a File

To use the Cisco IP/VC Software Upload Utility to upload a file, perform the following steps:


Step 1 Choose Start > Programs > Cisco IPVC Tools > Cisco IPVC Software Upload Utility. The Software Upload Utility window appears (see Figure E-1).

Step 2 In the IP: field, enter the IP address of the Cisco IP/VC unit to which you want to upload the software.

Step 3 In the Path field, enter the path for the file you want to update. The update file must have a .fls extension. To browse for the path:

Step 4 In the User name field, enter the name required to log in to the unit.

Step 5 In the Password field, enter the password required to log in to the unit.

Step 6 Click Upload.

The Upload utility stops all activity on the gateway and overwrites the current file in Flash memory with the file you are uploading. The Uploading status box appears during the transfer.

Step 7 After the transfer completes, the Upload Complete Message box appears.
Click OK.
