This chapter describes how to delete modules and chassis in ViewRunner. ViewRunner allows you to add and delete various system components.

Note References to modules or to CAP ATU-C modules are meant to also include information about dual-port CAP ATU-C, dual-port DMT-2 ATU-C, quad-port STU-C, and quad-port flexi ATU-C (CAP or DMT), unless otherwise noted. |
To delete a module, complete the following steps:
The menu shown in Figure 6-1 appears.

Step 2 Choose Delete Module.
ViewRunner deletes that module from the chassis.
For xTU-C modules and line interface modules (LIMs), you must lock the module before you delete it.
To lock a module, complete the following steps:
Step 2 Choose Port Properties and Configuration to open the Module Properties dialog box Port Configuration tab.
Step 3 Select Locked for the Administrative State.
You cannot delete network interface modules without first locking them.

Caution Use caution before you delete a network interface module; you could interrupt subscriber calls that are taking place when you delete a network interface module. |
You cannot delete the primary system controller module.

Note Be sure to use the configuration Save and Restore feature to save your original configuration so you can restore it when new modules are installed. See "Using the Save Configuration and Restore Configuration Features," for more details. |
To delete a Cisco 6100/6130 chassis, complete the following steps:
The menu shown in Figure 6-2 appears.

Step 2 Choose Delete Chassis and ViewRunner deletes that chassis.

Note For system controller software Version 2.1.0 or later, you must lock the LIM controller module to delete the Cisco 6110 chassis. The Delete Chassis option is disabled if you have not locked the LIM controller module. |
