This chapter explains how to set Cisco 6100 Series addresses for managing different Cisco 6100 Series systems in your network, and how to set ViewRunner startup preferences.
You can specify addresses of various Cisco 6100 Series systems in the network using the Cisco 6100 Addresses dialog box.

The Cisco 6100 Series Addresses dialog box opens. Use the Addresses dialog box to add or delete Cisco 6100 Series addresses on your network (see Figure 6-2). You can assign a name to each node for ease of reference.

Step 2 Add or delete IP addresses.
Step 3 Access addresses from the ViewRunner main menu by pulling down the list of addresses and choosing a Cisco 6100 Series system (see Figure 6-3).
A Chassis View appears, displaying the configuration of the node address that you choose.

You can set the preferences for ViewRunner using the following steps:

The ViewRunner Preferences dialog box shown in Figure 6-5 displays.
Step 2 Go to the Polling Interval field in the Alarms and Events group box, and select a seconds value from the menu.
Step 3 Click the 1 Sec or 5 Sec setting in the SNMP Timeout Value group box. This sets the SNMP time-out value if ViewRunner cannot discover a Cisco 6100 Series system.
Step 4 If you want ViewRunner to discover the Cisco 6100 Series equipment upon startup, in the Misc group box, select the check box next to the phrase, "Automatically discover when opening Chassis View window."
If you leave this option unchecked, you must discover the Cisco 6100 Series equipment for each Cisco 6100 Series system using the Edit > Discover menu option or the Discover icon.
